Bystander50 5th Gear January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 Spies in S'pore police force Fri, Jan 29, 2010 The Star/Asia News Network China Press reported that Ah Long groups in Singapore had planted spies in the police force to snoop on the force's activities. The daily quoted Singapore Commissioner of Police Khoo Boon Hui as saying that such groups would spend years training the spies by sending them to law school before they join the force. http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNew...129-195203.html A repeat of the HK movie Infernal Affairs in local context. Local criminals are now smart enough to infritrate the police force instead of only the police force sending spies in. Wonder how will they root out these "spies" on both sides. ↡ Advertisement

The_Bear Turbocharged January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 Why would China Press be reporting an unsubstianted report on SPF? If the Commissioner did say such a thing, it will make local headlines first, if he even says it at all. By the way things go in SPF, it is unlikely to be released or at least, until the perpretrators are caught. Least that they be warned. I will find the report dubious at best. TandemAssassin 1st Gear January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 i never knew it was so easy to get into law school. do the gangs go around the top JCs in Singapore recruiting their spies and offer them a scholarship ala the SAF and SPF?
Kusje Supersonic January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 1. Why do you need law school graduates when some poly diploma will suffice? 2. Law school graduates won't waste time with such nonsense and if the gangsters had the motivation to study for law school, they wouldn't be gangsters in the first place. Sw20 2nd Gear January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 We already have undercover police working inside "gangs"...... Now the question would be... who are they working for at the end of the day? How would they get tips on how and when drugs are gonna enter SG?

This is not new. a lot of the financial markets in Japan, HK, China, even on Wall Street are controlled by triad or mafia... it is well known.. it is always attractive to earn big money on the side, in addition to your regular pay, i guess. even in singapore, a lot of the money these bookies and loan sharks collect are invested into financial markets to earn them more money... and the investment is of course not done by the ruffians but rather the smooth educated type who hold middle positions in the triad society, their day jobs could be traders or executives. don't ask me how i know boss... just saying it like it is. Zyrofillica 1st Gear January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 so u are triad member ah? u see all the anti vice squads, CNB and SSB. All one look you will mistake for ah beng one. Same kind just different organization. i think quite easy for ah beng to fit in as long as he gets cleared for employment. anyway, its true you wont need a scholar to get those kind of info, but hey, having your pple in high places always helps ↡ Advertisement
