Stary Turbocharged January 24, 2010 Share January 24, 2010 what is the purpose? Geylang is a red-light district and will always be...because it was meant and created to be that way. So this whole exercise seems to be just creating some jobs for the police to do. 1 month later it will be back to square one and then what? another exercise? Waste of time and taxpayer's money

If want to clear them, then just make prostitution illegal in Geylang. That would clear it once and for all. For what do all this clearing when Geylang is still a legal place for prostitution? For sure a place like this will have an overspill of other illegal activities. If want to kill a tree, make sure you pull out the roots as well. Don't just cut the leaves and branches because it will just grow back. And then cut again..for what? Isn't that waste of time and money? Might as well just pull out the roots.
