Deathism Neutral Newbie January 23, 2010 Share January 23, 2010 Hi, Contemplating getting either the Garmin Nuvi 1350 or the Garmin Nuvi 255W. Anyone with prior experience with either of the aforementioned models? I could use some feedback. I read up the specs and features, it's more or less similar. Thanks! ↡ Advertisement

Gturismo Neutral Newbie January 23, 2010 Share January 23, 2010 1350 is able to have handwriting input in Chinese and English, and ecoRoute keeps track of fuel consumption. With that, still 255W is better in terms of value and price. 265WT is better as it includes europe and has bluetooth, but not sure if it is available locally. If you buy 265WT which is not localised, you can't have junction view. Note that the 2 sets you mentioned has junction view.

Kusje Supersonic January 24, 2010 Share January 24, 2010 Buy a new nokia GPS enabled handphone. They recently just added in free turn by turn navigation with voice. Pros: You don't have to hide it everytime you park your car since you'll be taking your phone with you anyway. Dual purpose devices are in! Free maps for 100s of countries Assisted GPS so you lock on faster (data charges are minimal) Free traffic updates from LTA (data charges apply) Cons: Small screen? Drains your phone battery. Expensive data connection charges if you want traffic updates
Rickoes Neutral Newbie January 24, 2010 Share January 24, 2010 Other than software or internal function, the different between series of nuvi is mounting to the suction holder. 2 series have to plug in USB connector in and out while put in and remove from holder. 7 & 8 series have a docking which 12v supply plug to docker and GPS plug in and out with a pin contact into docker, so the cable always stay permanent on docker. This will help prolong hardware life span.
