Which Bak Kwa is nice?

Yishun Chong Pang market there got one old store. 20+ years liao. Still like their traditional taste after all these years. For those who interested, it is near the back gate of the chong pang community centre. [thumbsup]

 

Besides shop&save? That store I always pass by but never buy before. Very tradition looking shop, it's made by themselves and don't have brand? Will get some to try when I'm there.

Which type of bak kwa taste better, sliced or minced???

 

I like minced but everyone say sliced is better and more expensive. I have cheapo taste bud. :D

I tried the duck meat at their outlet over at KL chinatown.

 

Just bought 500g to try and in the end...went back and bought another kg.

 

Wonderful stuff.

hello donut.... you said all Bak Kaw taste the same... i said no it does not... anyways pork got different grades... different amt of fats...

 

and i didnt say i can tell which store which bak kaw by blind tasting.. but i sure can tell you the difference which is sweeter saltier or more burnt blah blah blah...

I do not like the idea of eating the charred bits and good thing for me is that I don't really appreciate them.

The melaka one has been taken over by Long Zi. Last time went there was before you. unless there's another location you went to.

 

 

hmm bro you mean 龙记?hmm...cant remember the shop location but is somewhere near to the bridge which can see the christ church... [rolleyes]

 

duno anywhere still can find 我来也 other than the Sentosa branch...probably this weekend go around to recce...

minced meat more for ah pek haha...sliced more chewy bite...to each his own taste and preference lah... [laugh]

ya I think I tried them before, not bad.

 

Do they have an outlet at Lucky Chinatown too?I remember several yrs back I went to buy there got good promo buy 1 kg free half kg...

 

end up I buy about 3kg then cut into small slices mix with rice to eat...haha [laugh]

funny thing abt Bah hoo is that since young, when i was introduced to it... i always considered it 'fake' food... its like dust and some sugar blended together... never liked it until bread talk was born... then LOVED it this time round.... haha [laugh]

Same here. I consider it as a flavoring food.. you put them onto bread, or porridge to add flavor.
