WTB used Saab 9-3 but...

High 40s would be a very generous offer. I would only offer him low 40s like 41 or 42k. Don't forget, buying an old saab is taking over a whole load of worries from the previous owner.

I was in the saab showroom a couple of weeks ago and the staff there don't even feel like selling cars. There's no one in the showroom, most of the variants not available, cars overpriced. They know they can't sell. And to top it off, I asked them about saab's future and even themselves expect it to be bleak.

If i wasn't given the wrong info, the SE selling Saab now are not even Saab SE. they are from Opel coz the whole gang of Saab SE left.

Yet to find time to go down but they might be clearing stock if you find the right person to talk to.

i came across something similar a few months back, was going for 45k.

TS, if maintenance cost is a big concern, forget about Conti. everything about Conti costs more than Asian. even if it is the same thing.

How true or confident you are to the statement you have made?

If you know where to buy, parts like brake pad and rotor for certain make are actually much cheaper than japz.

i know how to get my stuff cheap, but not everyone does. i'm talking about conventional channels. if you tell me maintaining a Conti is cheaper or equal to a Jap, you are kidding yourself.

and you think conti car owner don't know where to get cheap cheaper stuff and only know conventional channels?

let's take a typical japz car vs a conti car and compare their 1st 30k servicing (with AD's promo of free servicing)

conti car service at 15k and 30 interval. each servicing cost , eg, $250. so that's $500.

a japz car need to service at 1k, 5k, 10k, 20k and 30k. so if each servicing cost $150, that's $750.

If you take the service package from Toyota and Mitsubishi, it's much more expensive than the $150 example i quote.

sure. Let's compare. Mine cost slightly less than $450 at AD, inclusive of gst. What's yours....assuming u are driving a japz

Anyway it's just friendly comparison. There's no right or wrong, much less a prize.

mine is almost double yours. jap is much much less. 10% maybe.

you ask anybody who has owned both Conti and Asian, see what they say.

btw, mine is not even premium Conti.

like i said in my previous posting, japz are not really that cheap.. conti aren't exactly expensive either.

maybe wearnes like to do very high markup but not all conti AD are like that, be it premium or non premium.

search around and you will notice that even bread and butter japz car's servicing, including change of parts, at AD, could be much more expensive..
