REN Ci Hosptal & Medicare Centre received the first donation for its Jan 24 charity show yesterday - $500,000 from NTUC FairPrice Foundation.

Donation boxes have also been placed at more than 80 NTUC FairPrice outlets islandwide, to collect funds until March 31, for Ren Ci.

Please continue to donate to charity, although it is sad to know that there are people who siphone our $$ off, but the need really need help.

Let leave the monitoring job to the authorities to have better transparency in their accounts

always the case i see ppl asking ppl to 'move on'.

NKF misused money = move on

Renci monk misused money = move on

so what? for each mistake they made, they are given light punishment. why sld we move on? sg is so gulible.

disagre because:

authority's view point is buyer beware

and doners say garmen to check?

doesnt match. so things like only 5% goes to the really in need can happen [thumbsdown]

i will donate when they declare that:

1) fund raisers receive 0% commission and no salary

2) 80% of donated funds goes to the really in need

if you can see, they don dare to make such promises [thumbsdown]

I don't give out donation to any organization and also to children with milo tin cans anymore. Amount collected are taxed first even before they reach their intended recipient.

I'll will not donate a single cent thru the telcos as long as they are charging admin fees. [rifle]

Here we are trying to help the needy and there they are looking after their bottomline ( and more profit) .... whatever happen to civic/social responsibilities ??

yea, and as mentioned, the GST is a joke !!

Honestly, after the NKF and the Ren Ci, I emphatize with the needs but I would not call to donate. If anything, big or small depends on what I can afford, I will donate direct.

I will not donate to any organisations that have done wrong, i.e. NKF and REN CI. If they want money, get it back from the people that had siphoned away from them. Besides, i thought they have huge amounts of reserve fund? Finish them first, then we talk.

Dont blame me, blame the people that cause me to lose heart and confidence on charity.

All these donation results are very fishy. We don't even know if the running number is accurate or not. Worse still the telcos already leach off donors.

How about next time they just list out the things they want to buy such as rice, sugar, blankets so on and people donate the item rather than cash?

Can use my year 2010 TV & Radio license to donate part of it? maybe $20?

Town Council SC fees also can donate some.

Money collected from ERP also can chip in.

COE money also can lend a helping hand, maybe donate 1000 pcs of CAT A?

Income from parking fines also can be use for charity.

Don't print those colourful banners with MP smiling face that hang all over our estate, use the money to donate also good.

BTW, the above are all our people money you know.

so many ideas, will they look into these?????

GIC & Temasek, how about you guys?

I have not even mention HDB......
