Caravan 5th Gear March 4, 2011 Share March 4, 2011 M16 needs zeroing to be zhun....Sar 21 not really needed.... SAR21 more robust and reliable as compared to M16. I was trained and completed my NS with M16S1. For my reservist, got upgraded to SAR21 three years ago.....never look back again. Same here. Only touched the SAR21 during reservists. It's heavier but I can see why SAF chose it. Anybody would have been through battalion or company level zeroing exercise. How long does it take to zero all weapons? What happens when the M16 gets dropped or knocked? The SAR21 is accurate for most people without zeroing. Imagine war breaks out and all reservists mobilised. Where got time to do zeroing? Time is always limited and there a thousand things to do during real mobilisation. I'd rather have a no-fuss weapon that I can take and go and it's still accurate. Scope is the way to go. Look at the M4. Iron sights are so... primitive. And the translucent magazine is great. Those specs who say sar is factory zeroed one all BS one.... factory zeroed provided u are the first person to use after manufacture then i believe... Pocus Turbocharged March 5, 2011 Share March 5, 2011 Will we have a SAR21 Mark 2 version? It'll be called SAR21A suppose to be in Production in 2011 or 2012. This is the link of the prototype: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_80_yaznP3lM/TO6i...1600/SAR21A.jpg Apparently, 90% the complains that where made about the weapon (include this post in page 2) were taken into account and fixed/improved in this "A" version. Now the Weapon boasted: - up to 800rds/s rating rate (was 650rds/s) equal or better than M16 - about 0.5kg lighter...thank god!! - fully ambidextrous now so left handers rejoice!! - Kelvar protective plate now is located outside instead of inside, makes more sense and also ambidextrous - Full/Semi/Safe selector now correctly located above the pistol grip instead of some forsaken location, just like the M16..this fixed the no.1 flaw of the SAR21!! - built-in P-rail for various scope! I was from OCS in 02-03, we were the first batch of cadets to use the SAR 21 for ATP. So they said " SAR 21 is factory ZERO-ED! DO NOT TOUCH the dial, blah blah". haaa who the fark told you that..... though have not touch Sar before, but if no need zero then the dial there for fark??? Everyone eye sight are diff, of course need to zero... unless we got smart bullet.... you see where the bullet go where.... But really, M16 is good for parade and for SOC and road march... cause lighter... .... if go war.... seriously need to built up arm muscle and fire the AK...... cause the fella hardly jam... throw into mud still can fire... try that on M16... got to raise arm and shout IA.... ......
