Improving altis 09 performance.

Hi guys

 

 

My current ride is an 09 altis. I am currently finding it underpowered.

 

For the first 3 gears are ok as they are rather responsive but it is the 4th it is sluggish unless i turn off the a/c.

 

What are the improvements that i can do to improve the performance of my altis?

To increase mid to high end performace, get a straight thru exhaust like HKS. Low end will lose abit though. I'm driving a Vios on HKS, I think my mid to high end is better after HKS + piggyback. :)

I encountered the same error. Probably is the forum buggy. Wait for them to fix it I guess.

To add, you can change your stock 4-1 extractor to an aftermarket 4-1 extractor. Should help with the straight-thru exhaust. That's what I'm on. Cheers.

The LTA HKS exaust isn't really straight through..it only the end part with muffler and tailpipe..

 

it doesn't really help much unless u really do a straight through by decatin which is illegal..see ur luck whether u gt caught :)

Since ur car is new ur next inspection is in 3 yrs time..so by decatin might be a gd idea for u..

 

(Decat is removing the cataylitic converter, in the middle of ur exhaust pipe which removes harmful emmsions)

 

For the extractor part 4-2-1 is better and will work veri well with a straight through decated exhuast..you can do all this at TOP SPEED in JB.

 

But if all these is too much throuble ..the least u can do is..

 

-Drop in air filter or open pod if u wan more high end)

-piggyback ECUs Eg. UNICHIP

-HKS LTA complaint exhaust

The 3 above should be sufficent for everyday driving in singapore

If I'm not mistaken, 4-2-1 is for low to mid range torque. TS is asking for mid to high end, which I think a 4-1 would be better. Piggybacked on will help improve all range of torque.
