Hi bros,

Need help. My Maxtor HDD is failing and I am not able to copy files from my Maxtor HDD to another external HDD as it says "Windows Delayed Writing Failure". I was trying to backup and it failed.

How do I save my files as it contains all my work?

Pls advise.

Try unplugging your hard disk from the computer and putting it into an external HDD enclosure and use another PC to transfer your files out.

On the other hand , you might want to use one of the Live CD versions of Linux to boot up and mount the hard drive and copy out the files you need to another HDD.

I found this website with pple with a similar problem hope it helps :) : http://www.bermangraphics.com/problems/del...ritefailure.htm

I read the website. Thx. I have exactly the problem which the first guy had. Writing failure and I have this message keeps popping out. Cyclic Redundancy Check.

Or could I use my fren's MACBOOK to make a backup of my external HDD?
