RPM at 100km/hr depends on your gear ratio. I believe 3kRPM @ 100kph is normal for average cars.

When i was on stock gearbox (final drive ratio 4.0), cruising at 100kph was @ 2.8kRPM. Managed to hit 230km/hr on NSH.

After i changed to final drive ratio 4.33, cruising at 100kph was @ 3.1kRPM and of course, top end is lower but much better pick-up.

Yup normal and depend on your gear ratio.

Mine too was 1.6 auto with 4sp AT (redline @ 6500RPM)

3000RPM = 100km

4000RPM = 130km

5000RPM = 160km

6000RPM = 190km

If the car is a Swift Sports, at 100km/h the rpm is 3500! :o

not so high bro, should be around 3200 rpm. [cool]

3,000 rpm is very low rpm bros. Dun worry, your engine won't break. It just reach half mark away from redline. It is also at a point where it just begin to peak; quite an optimum point.

U driving one bro?

I'm talking abt the manual one. Anyway, I got it from 1shift.

While this is all fine and dandy for the driver, it does mean that passengers have to put up with less room than in other hatchbacks, and that even in 5th gear, the Swift Sport cruises at 100km/h with the engine ticking over at above 3500rpm. Just like the classic Mini, noise from the engine, though tuneful, is always present, and the car could do with an additional, higher gear ratio.
