Vextan 1st Gear January 7, 2010 Share January 7, 2010 frankly, if you are very concern with fc, then should not consider a suv, as these are fuel guzzler. but i believe for vitara is still not too bad (my bro owns one).
Actan72 5th Gear January 7, 2010 Author Share January 7, 2010 I was also cosidering Subaru Forester.. The salesman says is around 11.5km/litre.. This is quite reasonable for a 4WD... But I like vitara more..

Chooz Neutral Newbie January 13, 2010 Share January 13, 2010 My 2L 4wd 2006 grand vitara (new version) gives me 7.5 km/L. My usage is 70% city, 30% highway. If you want a SUV, you throw the FC worries out of the window. The heavier they are, the more fuel they consume. If they have proper 4WD mechanism, they also consume more fuel. But what the heck, I love my 4WD for its the ability to go offroad and the stability on slippery road conditions.

Kangadrool Supersonic January 13, 2010 Share January 13, 2010 forester FC 11.5km/l?? and you believe the SE?? [laugh] 11.5km/l combined cycle, I believe. Most likely, it will only return 8-9 km/l in Singapore.

But I like vitara more.. The 2L Forester is only 2WD right ? So is 2L Vitara. The XT Forester & 2.4L Vitara then has 4WD.
Cybernation Neutral Newbie January 16, 2010 Share January 16, 2010 I own a 07 model. No 4WD. Bought it 2nd hand with pretty low mileage. When first start driving it the FC was 9.2km/l. After that I aim to put in some slight effort to improve overall engine smoothness. So I change to K & N filter, add the razin Voltage stabilizer with grounding and pop in a Top Fueler from Broquet. Now the FC is 11.9km/l if i dont floor the throttle too often. As my main objective is to improve the smoothness not really for the FC, all I can say it is a bonus if the FC improves as well. Most of you are right about owning a SUV must not think about FC. ↡ Advertisement
