Friendstar Supercharged December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 Dear forum mates, for any car accidents, if you are hit by the rear car, can you go back to AD for repair? i'm just wondering... if you can go back to AD for claims on repair, then what's the use of authorised workshops since everyone will surely prefer to go back to their AD for insurance claims. Please advice. Thanks! ↡ Advertisement

Friendstar Supercharged December 29, 2009 Author Share December 29, 2009 Authorised workshops only applies if you're claiming own damage. so if you claiming on someone else, it is in your interest to go AD ?
Eyke Supercharged December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 so if you claiming on someone else, it is in your interest to go AD ? not really. AD charges are definitely higher and work may take longer, resulting in higher claim for insurance company, which will raise insurance premiums across the board. even if it's not your own insurance company you are claiming, your own premium will also increase as insurance companies are similar to petrol companies: you increase, i oso increase. Shinigaimi Neutral Newbie December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 so if you claiming on someone else, it is in your interest to go AD ? Yah. Unless you are willing to pay first then claim. Normally, we don't want to fork out money during repairing. So we will claim from our policy first. Then we claim from the other side. But if you want to claim from your policy, you need to go to AD. But I believe A*G is the only co. that lets you repair from your AD if your car is less than 3 yrs old.

Eyke Supercharged December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 a small scratch becomes 2.1k. that's the SOP con job that workshops do to make money. can change new bumper and spray also don't need so much. you should have tried to settle privately. Contax 1st Gear December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 what about bringing his car to your prefer workshop to get it repair until he satisfy ?
Shinigaimi Neutral Newbie December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 so you'r saying that A*G is the only company that allows you to claim from your own policy first before claiming on others? Nope. All companies work this way. The only thing that A*G is that it allows you to repair in your AD if the car is less than 3 yrs
Shinigaimi Neutral Newbie December 29, 2009 Share December 29, 2009 Maybe he claim for car replacement as well. That's why the cost is so high. Plus normal sporeans will not fork out the money immediately. That's why the workshop will slightly inflate the prices. The new rule is that... must report... does not mean must claim... Just did a claim yesterday.. both do pte settlement. But must report to the own insurers for document purposes. ↡ Advertisement
