I only know Krabi have nice beach.

Any bros here have any recommendation for resort/hotel to stay (~$150/night), location should easy access to local food/seafood.

What can I do on Krabi?

All suggestion are weclome. Tks Tks [wave][wave][flowerface]

been there 4 yrs back, stayhed 3 star hotel, forget the name though...

place not bad... but also a little commercialised

compared to phuket, its much less commercialised..infact only Ao Nang is commercialised, the town area still quite backward.

Great place if u do not like the thumping music of patong or ahgogo girls.

Neutral Newbie

If you go to Krabi - you must stay at Railay Beach areas... no other. Can only there by boat. Ao Nang SUX!!

Railay is beautiful, and beats Phuket by miles. You won't regret, I guarantee.

hmmm...went to Krabi 2 years back for about 5 days...like the place as it gives the privacy and the relax feel... [cool]

Stayed at Krabi Hotel, so far so good. Bit old but hotel has its own beach access. Kinda like Pulai Desaru hotel. Breakfast was so so, but there's a MacD about 10mins down the road so no problem for us, and along the street has lots of street makan like Phat Thai, Fried chicken, glutinuous rice, bamboo fish etc. But they only open in the late afternoon.

Ao Nang beach is not that pretty compared to Phuket. If you have the time, do go for some island hopping...me and my gf signed up for a 1day tour to Phi Phi Islands, damage around 1200baht. ($50). You can go outside the hotel area, there should have some small booths selling such packages, dun take hotel wan coz its super expensive, and they also outsource to these operators so its still the same. [knife] The beaches are nicer for photo taking too.

We went to about 7-island tour, including maya beach and railey beach. Had snorkelling sessions for about 5 beaches. Do bring some bread to feed the fishes or you can get some from the boat tour guide. Spectacular view of the seabed, corals and the colourful fishes. There's a lunch throw in too so dun worry of feeling hungry. [laugh]

Recently there's a mishap in Phuket where 2 such boats collided head on and capsized, i thk got 2 china tourist drowned. But such accidents are very rare so no worry. [rolleyes]

By the way, there are some mini pasar malams scattered around if you intend to go over the weekend. Good chance to grab some nice food and teach the kids about Thai people culture. Remember to buy their raw sea coconut. Very nice and cheap!! [:p]
