Gearoil 1st Gear December 16, 2009 Share December 16, 2009 I think it is not just courage and financial means. It is more than that.. leaving Singapore mean are you going to leave your old folks behind...which we are instill the concept fillal piety from young....It doesn't take alot of money to leave singapore if you are moving to another lower cost countries like China..either do you need a lot of courage as long as you secure a job or have a buffer of 6 months living expense...Worse case, you can't make it just come back to Singapore to find another job.... There you go again, talking rubbish..no offence there, Would you go to a lower cost county, if you got to sacrifice your security, efficient courts system in dealing with issues in that country, education for your kids and above all the very comforts you took for granted like clean water and almost perfect electrical supply system...and aomething like racial discrimation thatt is more openly practiceed elsewhere? Ppl like to complain about the system and issues here and compare to what they can get better overseas on certain things but they took for granted , many other more important aspects of things that they have here. You jolly well know by yourself, that you will face more difficulties if you get out. So stay and support the ruling system lah!

You jolly well know by yourself, that you will face more difficulties if you get out. So stay and support the ruling system lah! Security, so called efficient justice systems blah blah blah are just an illusion created to blind good folks into voting for the current ruling party...you need to get out more and open your eyes to the world my friend...SG is not the world, it it part of the world! Everyday there are robberies, murder etc happening here in SG do the papers report everything? Would you know everything? Security or feeling safe is just a perception. I'm pretty sure if you try walking in the back lanes of geylang or desker road in the wee hours wearing rolex and thick gold chains, you'll be robbed for sure. Being safe means taking care of oneself, being street wise is the key. And you'll stand a better chance of survival in any country. And facing difficulties in another country is a definite yes. But remember our fore fathers are also immigrants here. We must also possess the same spirit of determination to succeed and survive anywhere in the world. So my message to TS...step out of your comfort zone for a better life out there for yourself and family...Good Luck!
Spade Neutral Newbie December 16, 2009 Share December 16, 2009 hmm... dunno wat to say in all of this - I'm a PR of another country where everybody seems to want to escape to, but I am here living working, cramming with the in-laws, and slugging it out with IPPT and all the other nonsense that comes with singapore life. I hate warm weather and many other issues. But get one thing straight - I'm feeling too old to pick up a new language and go shift over somewhere else more conducive to cheap but big living - ie... M'sia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia. US/UK economy is in the shits right now... and is getting worse day by day. Oz / NZ is totally boring... but looking good IMO right now.... however living those places is expensive. Can't live in India because it comes with too much indianess in terms of holding fast to certain ways and traditions that is generally un-cosmopolitan. Japan - never been there, but I heard nothing is cheap there except cars (excluding the fuel). Where in the world to go?? My dream is to retire on the Spanish coast! but that's just a dream. U miss out China?.... I am sure you will like cHINA.....Influx of , Lower living standard if you are not in the major cities, plus no need to pick up new lang... All speak "PU TONG HUA" I love to go Japan but it is expensive there... Hong Kong is another place for the rich... Indon not bad place....as I have a couple of friends staying there. Expenses super low Thailand cheap to the locals but the policies there are not foreigner friendly... Buying house and setting up businesses over there got lots of barriers.. Malaysia cheap and good unless you dont mind abt the racial thing whereby chinese is consider a lower class than the locals.... So how? This cannot and there cannot... STAY IN SG LOH... GIVE YOUR CPF TO TEAM THUNDER, WORK UNTIL 65 AND WHEN YOU DIE, MAKE SURE YOU DONATE ALL YOUR WORKING BODY PARTS TO THE UNFORTUNATE LOH....
