MitsubishiExLancer2010 Neutral Newbie December 22, 2009 Share December 22, 2009 I went for my 1k servicing today and asked the technician and he said it won't consume fuel when I step on the brake. FYI. Not sure where I heard this from...I mean, the part where brake=consume fuel To be honest, I can't say much because I'm a little ashamed to say that I have never driven an auto car before! No idea about this, but in general bad driving habits like accelerating hard then braking hard worsen fuel consumption. But I wouldn't think you waste much fuel by normal braking. ↡ Advertisement
Felipe 3rd Gear December 22, 2009 Share December 22, 2009 i let car freewheel, it's easier and the lazier way. but do slow only at slow speeds, not barreling down a slope. at slow speeds, the brake pads hardly wear out faster. ↡ Advertisement
