This will be a incentive, if you like it, you can keep it, if not sell back... Do note that his books are not your traditional Fantasy Novel like Dungeon and Dragon. They are actually quite deep. I think that might be the reason for mix review... certain ppl think that fantasy must be all about fighting and fireball flying here and there. Unfortunately I am a book collector too...and I love the smell of crisp fresh paper...

Thanks bro, I always wanted to try Robert Jordan but was afraid that it is too long winded like Stephen Donaldson I tried his 2 books but can't take it no offence to any of his fans. I like Stephen Donaldson's Chronicles series for its anti-hero theme. Its long-windedness is there to "make sure" the reader "bonds" with each character before ... he crushes them. Leclair 3rd Gear December 10, 2009 Share December 10, 2009 my first favorite author was Raymond E Feist. Then i picked up Robert Jordan and the Wheel of time.So sad to know that he passed away. Now waiting to buy his last book at a cheaper price. Was at the airport and think it was close to $50 for the hardcover. Anywhere that is cheaper?? To me , my favorite got to be Wheel of time , Riftwar saga, and LOTR in that order. Tried other authors but somehow they "seemed" too simplistic for me. Another Long-winded author is George RR Martin and his A Song of Ice and Fire- a lot of side stories- love, murder, politics, magic, etc and long winded but not too bad. Any others to recommend , other than those already mentioned?
Weiming 1st Gear December 10, 2009 Share December 10, 2009 Jim Butcher's Codex Alera Jennifer Fallon's Second Sons Trilogy Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince Trilogy Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind Mercedes Lackey Valdemar series Deborah Chester's The Sword The Ring and The Chalice Trilogy Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series and my favourite fantasy author Terry Pratchett Favourite sci-fi author is Lois McMaster Bujold for her Vorkosigan series. Infact he is one of the indirect major character that help to turn the tide (lead the God back to Krynn).
