Heya,

Does anyone encounter a problem with their toilet bowl "up flushing"? One day i was bathing when suddenly the toilet bowl(squat type) started gurgling and water started rushing out. At first i thought it is lots of gas bubbles trapped below got released, it happen 2 times in 15 minutes. but then i noticed that just like when you flush the toilet, the strength and duration of the "up-flushing" is the same.

It seems like when somebody living above/s flush their toilet, i receive the up-flushing. [dizzy]

Just imagine when you are poo-ing when the upflushing happens. [crazy] You get a good buttwashing with other peoples s--t.

Now has anyone who has encountered this and how did you solved this problem?

Inform your Town Council, your main waste pipe air vent(located at the roof top) choked already. When your neighbour neighbour flushes, Air cannot escape, will push the through the nearest exit..your toilet bowl lor, if it's also connected to the floor trap, you'll also get the same effect to your floor trap.

If your floor trap is connected to the same main pipe but not affected with the escaping air...then it's your toilet bowl pipe choke.

Need you get your own plumber for such case. [bigcry]

Where's the floor trap? So far only upflushing occuring with the toilet bowl. The bedroom loo does not have this problem.

If its the main pipe air vent choke, does that mean other's above/below me will encounter the same problem? So i can actually check with my above/below neighbour if they have the same problem.

Floor trap is the one that allows water on toilet/ bathroom floor to flow in. But less likely, as floor trap is further up the branch pipe from the main pipe. Normally the toilet bowl is nearest to the main pipe.

Yes, I think you can check with your neighbours whether they are facing the same issues.

If they are not facing the same issues, the source should be nearer to your unit or within your unit.

Supersonic

Since we are on the subject of plumbing, anyone knows what's the cause of this:

one day and out of the blue, when I flush my master bedroom or common toilet flush, my pipes in the kitchen will start to give out a screeching sound and leak a little.

Any idea what's wrong?
