Leaving your car in between pumps?

On the morning of 6th December 2009, i had drove in a Shell petrol station(Marsilling) to pump in some gas before going to the market. Was surprised to see all pumps occupied as normally it would be almost deserted(staying nearby so quite familiar). Initially i waited cos was fooling with my son in the car. But suddenly noticed after awhile that a car was parked in between the pumps. Still waited cos all the other pumps were occupied. I thought maybe the driver made a dash for payments or something.

After about 5-10mins the driver came back to her car, walking as slowly as anybody would at the beach [gorgeous] . I rolled down the window, said HI! & said could u pls move along as i need to pump too. She didn't even acknowledged or said sorry, then purposely start the car late & check mirror & s--t like that.

So i gave a light tap horn. Then she looked at the rear mirror & gave that "WHAT" look. After that hell broke loose. I got out of the car, went to the front scream at her to get lost. Pump attendants came ask her to move along. End of story, opps not yet. there was also another car left in between pumps at the other end of the station [scholar] . Both drivers of same race, not related but different gender.

OMG...!!!! Why do we have these kind of idiots in S'pore???? I wouldn't mind if she had left her car to one side of the pumps but in-between?!

Guys, this is not a complaint but this might be my first encounter of such behaviors in S'pore & anywhere else, have u encountered similar episodes or is it a norm for some people. Could you guys also comment on what you might have done if you were in my situation.

Thanks & drive safe, be courteous. [drivingcar]

Best to get the station mgr and inform him. No point in getting the attendants as the mgr has vested interests in getting these idiots to move off/on as fast turnover of his pumps is his business lifeline.

I doubt early morning waking up the mgr in his office will do any better. i always prefer to "settle" things on hand myself. [smash]

sorry don't understand... was the offending car pumping too? then is it not normal for the owner to go in and pay?

so your grouse is the owner showing no urgency walking back to the car? maybe you did not execute the winding down the window and shouting at her with courtesy...?? i mean i'd get pissed if someone shout at me at the pumps... just guessing

When i drove into the station, the car was already left in between 2 pumps. in the middle of 2 parallel pumps.

Normally ppl will drive into any stations go to 1 side which ever they prefer to pump. lets say left side. so he will try to park as close as possible to his left to pump, a little off its ok. then he will leave to pay. Now other cars can move into the right pumps if he's still at the cashier or toilet rite? it also doesn't matter if he needs to crap. Still other cars can pass thru the right.

But this idiot leaves her car in the middle where no other cars can even squeeze thru left or right side of the pumps. And she took a whole 15mins plus attitude. But i still can't figure why she pump so far.

My topic was a question, is leaving your car in between pumps logical at all? These drivers don just drive small cheap china cars, its not OPC & no P-plates.

around 15mins of waiting plus a few more screaming.

wasn't targeting any pumps, just happened to got behind that particular car.

other pumps occupied, as some were inside making payments/shop around.

then finally noticed there was another car at the end also left in between pumps.

but i still waited. wouldn't have flared up if she hadn't had the urgency to move off for others to drive in.

ah ok i get it. her fault no doubt. but still knowing women drivers they probably have some skewed logic about parking and timings.

maybe you shouldn't have raised your voice. her face dropped in front of all those drivers, prolly why she delayed even more. a little bit more patience and charm would've resulted up in smiles for everyone.

thats the thing with ppl nowadays, i lowered my window said hi, i think i was polite initially. i flared up only when she delayed her move off. she wasn't even driving a manual car.

she was driving a camry.

if she had left her handbrakes off(like drivers in BKK), i would have push out her car.

oh.. now this is clear.. shd have driven in front, block her off and go about doing your own business.

some jokers need to be taught a lesson and also do your part so that these people don't repeat again

20 minutes? U sure or not...all pumps occupied for 20 minutes? If that's the case maybe you should have gone and looked in back room - maybe they were all together put on special show....
