Jamesc Hypersonic December 4, 2009 Share December 4, 2009 Thats the brand that Honda most fears! There was an earlier report saying Sonata handles better than Accord, now its slanted H is more economical than H and T! Hard to believe but I have driven one so I know how good thay are. But there will always be people saying MIJ is better . . .
Osiris 1st Gear December 4, 2009 Share December 4, 2009 perception & prejudice. Can't blame people. Japanese cars have proven themselves with decades of track records. Korean car are up and coming. Even if they have catch up or surpass japanese cars now, it will take a few more years for people to accept them more readily. I am guilty as charged. Korean cars never gets a chance in my shopping list.

There was an earlier report saying Sonata handles better than Accord, now its slanted H is more economical than H and T! Hard to believe but I have driven one so I know how good thay are. But there will always be people saying MIJ is better . . . Got a source for that? I do like the Sonata's interior and think it's great value for money, even better value for money than both the Accord and Camry (at least the neutered ones that our ADs bring in), but having driven it and an 03 Accord for a test, I find that claim rather outrageous. The only report that I've seen that suggested that came from a website titled Hyundai USA, so you'll have to forgive my skepticism regarding the objectivity of such an opinion. Cobblerz Neutral Newbie December 11, 2009 Share December 11, 2009 quite shocking too as my friend's avante only hit a mere 8-9km/l, how can that be??
Genie47 1st Gear December 12, 2009 Share December 12, 2009 He's not an eco-minded driver. In Australia, I calculated the fuel economy of the 3.5L V6 Aurion. I hit 8L/100km with it as advertized. Damn! there are some owners here with sub 1.6L cars having difficulty reaching these fuel economy figures.

Genie47 1st Gear December 12, 2009 Share December 12, 2009 Even with that, people with the Aveo struggled to get 12km/L some hitting 10km/L while I got 13km/L. Its how watchful you are on those RPMs and resisting the urge to jackrabbit.

Verve 1st Gear December 12, 2009 Share December 12, 2009 all i can say is that meaningful comparison is "average driving" don t see the point of getting so careful with the pedal and torturing yourself just to save $50 a month. that's 1 reason why i always hail those fc masters. the car is the biggest factor when i was driving a vios i got 12km/l so matter how hard i wack now i get 9km/l on a lancer even with more careful driving (not to the extreme though) sure i complained but after a while decided to just pump and forget about it since its the car and there's nothing i can do. ↡ Advertisement
