No more to poles for driving test

It will make it harder to pass and I think it is a good initiative...

In the past, my sch instructor teach me to turn max when the pole is at a particular position in the rear windscreen... Thus my parking was always perfect with poles.

However, it resulted in poor parking skills for the 1st 2 weeks after graduating, which defeats the purpose of "learning" how to drive right?

Fully supported this change, not practical at all for using poles as guide.

Remember, when we got our license, the biggest fear is is to park our car correctly into the parking lot that got car in between, especially parallel one. [sweatdrop]

But just wondering what the test center will put there instead of poles, used scrap cars? [confused]

Not practical to use scrap or toy cars also as in reality you sometimes have to park in a lot with no surrounding cars around too. [flowerface] [flowerface] [flowerface]

Still possible to pick up parking skills easily though - by using the kerb and lot markings as guide. Blind spot mirrors would be very useful now (to view rear wheel's position).

Should be easier to pass what??

If you hit pole and the pole hit the ground...demerit points and immediate failure, hit the pole...pole swings still demerit points but less. If no pole means no demerit points loh. LOL...

Maybe they will put transponders (aka IPPT test) within the lot. Once kena, FAIL!

i was told since day 1 candidate MUST do proper parking during test at 1 try....meaning, u cannot move ur car back n forth to park properly....i still dunno why must park neatly at one try? its not as if we r doing stunt parking.

Don't forget, mount kerb during parking is also immediate failure.

In the real world of driving, alot of ppl use the kerb to "stop" their cars. Even in building carparks special kerbs are built to prevent drivers from crossing the boundaries of the lot, especially for the rear.

They will put the test instructor's car and lemon lim's car between the empty lot, if the test candidate hit any of their cars while parking...the car alarm will go off and he/she will have to pay for the damages. :D

Real life situations.

Just kidding.... Maybe it's more logical to put 2 dummy cars between the empty carpark lot for reference, more practical.
