For Altis, whole of South East Asia is getting old engine. It is not BM decision. It is TMAP decision.

then the pricing got to be improve right....the car is made in thailand with an old engine spec, yet BM pricing is ridiculous.

As i mentioned previously, TMAP controls the OMV. There is no much room for BM to lower the price.

TMAP = Importer

BM = Distributor of TMAP

well well...is all depends on how much revenue does BM wants to achieve, also many ppl still suckled in by the TOYOTA brand despite the cars that BM brings in are from Thai where cost are lower, QA is unpredictable.

wah! if it's really so powerful and so good FC who will buy Honda stream, and price also more atractive [thumbsup]

Cannot compare.

RN6 is about 2 years old and 1.8 still on conventional 5 step-gear AT.

G2 JDM Wish basic X model already have head-starts with newer engine + proven iCVT + 7 airbags + selectable ECO-drive + VSC...

But the gear box is not the crappy CVT ...

Y CVT crappy? I tot it was the perfect solution for MPVs... where else can u find MPV of this size (new wish) with FC that is >13km/L.. with a lot of hp from a good engine somemore...

IMO the drawback was mainly price and PI.. Many ppl can't stomach PI more exp than AD for the same car.

Cos we are in the same group as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia

We are considered third world. So good things no need to give us, cos it will be too expensive for such market.. =)

U r rite. Even China got Dual VVT-i.

The spec i quoted is based on Voxy. Only Voxy used both engine.

For Wish 1.8L vs Stream 1.8L:

Wish: [email protected]; [email protected]; FC: 16km/L;

Stream: [email protected]; [email protected]; FC: 15km/L;

The main difference btw both car's engine is Wish has Valvematic while Stream has not adopted AVTEC.

so the new wish totally wins over Stream in term of Power, Torque and FC [:(]

just get the PI wish, if not wrong, PI wish comes with the Valvematic system on top of the usual Dual VVT-i, 7speed somemore...why get an outdated version from BM at the price they offer

7speed, that's cool [thumbsup]

BM one only 4 speed [thumbsdown]

how come BM always import the low grade products to Singapore? [furious]

Do they think Singaporen are not rich enough to afford high grade products?

Juz forget about the 7 spd. It is useless.

Well, u might need to write in to TMAP/TMC to complain about their product strategy. Anyway, taiwan is receiving the same spec as us. So, it could be that this is an export spec.

Not sg cannot afford but our market simply too small.

And I believe 2.0L Corolla do have dual vvti, but only available in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.

As for New Wish, all JDM liao as Thailand stop producing Wish since not selling well in Thailand due to no rear row air-con. Think in our region, only Taiwan and Sg distributor sell Wish.

So you mean it is acceptable for their price and the type of the old model they bring in?

Don't like don't buy. Simple.

Yes, this is the best answer.

BM/Toyota did not point a gun at those who own a Toyota. It's the consumer's choice.

318i/320i also uses old technology and made in South Africa, but no one seems to care and it's quite common on our roads...
