Kurty Supercharged December 1, 2009 Share December 1, 2009 hi, ever since i changed my new tyres, driving on the road was much quieter than before. another poison leads to another. now eyeing on having an active subwoofer beneath the seat. however no idea how to go about. any advise or recommendation of audio workshop that could do this cheaply? just a normal woofer/set up will do, after all, it just for entertainment to ears ↡ Advertisement

Kurty Supercharged December 30, 2009 Author Share December 30, 2009 bro Kurty, what model type of car are u driving? Why active-sub under the seat? Bro, i driving a proton savvy, small ride. further to that, i like my ride to be empty as possible as i go for low end pick up. thus weight and room space matters, an active sub only weight around 3-4kg and can be placed under the seat. so far, i saw the best deal was still at brothers. going for rm 199 exclude installation, 300watts. Yuan 6th Gear January 6, 2010 Share January 6, 2010 (edited) hi, ever since i changed my new tyres, driving on the road was much quieter than before. another poison leads to another. now eyeing on having an active subwoofer beneath the seat. however no idea how to go about. any advise or recommendation of audio workshop that could do this cheaply? just a normal woofer/set up will do, after all, it just for entertainment to ears In my opinion, upgrade of speakers would be a better investment than adding a sub-woofer. The speakers would make a world of difference even if you get an entry level set for just your front. Edited January 6, 2010 by Yuan
Gturismo Neutral Newbie January 6, 2010 Share January 6, 2010 In my opinion, upgrade of speakers would be a better investment than adding a sub-woofer. The speakers would make a world of difference even if you get an entry level set for just your front. It depends. Sub will give you the bass needed and the good speakers do bring out the clarity/music/instrumental/vocal out.

Sony 1st Gear January 6, 2010 Share January 6, 2010 (edited) t depends. Sub will give you the bass needed and the good speakers do bring out the clarity/music/instrumental/vocal out. any guide for buying a good speaker? example: like watts or the magnet weight establish your budget range, go to a few audio shop and check out the sound from each type of speaker, lock in on your actual budget and check out which audio shop is to your liking and go and do your installation.. everyone have their own preference to sound.. so there's no one size fit all. getting a good ICE is an Art, not Science which can be quantify. and decide what you want 1st.. a sub or a pair of component can varies a lot.. and give different aspect of sound.. Kurty Supercharged January 30, 2010 Author Share January 30, 2010 anyway, just an update on my set up. went to jkaudio for installation, really very good and detailed. stupid me go buy a pre amp, thought it is enough to power my speaker. after learning from jason, only then i know it is used in conjunction with amp... but i did my installation of component speaker and tweeter. sound is much better than stock. may i don't required an amp after all, nevertheless, the thoughts of upgrade my 2 din hu keep lingering.. i guess i got badly poisoned.
