Stupid Vivocity Carpark

I was stucked at level 6 carpark today (27 Nov 09) at 5.30pm.

I only managed to reached the spiral slope at about 6.30pm and exited to main road at about 6.40pm.

Anyone was stucked as well?

I saw quite a few people gave up waiting, parked their cars and made their way back to the mall.

Stupid location of the carpark exit. Those who want to turn right to travel eastwards have to wait forever for the road to clear before they can cut out.

Stupid design of the carpark entrance and exit at the spiral slope. Cars that are leaving blocked by cars coming in to park. And cars coming to park are blocked by cars leaving.

This is the first time i kenna stuck at a "jam" for more than 1 hour.

I was so tempted to call the traffic hotline to warn motorists of the jam at vivocity carpark, when i heard over class95 that the roads were clear.

Level 6? Were you parking at Habourfront or Vivocity?

take the MRT if you wanna go to such shopping centres in the city...much more convenient than driving...

just consider this...driving in Orchard or even in Vivo...have to be stuck in the jam just to get into the shopping centre carpark...somemore need to find parking lots to park the car...

take MRT just walk wherever you wanna go...so easy and convenient!!

Hi,

Living next to Vivocity, I do understand the frustration of that carpark - Like you, I had wasted much time trying to get off the ramp back into the main road.

Two points to share with the forummers:

(a) During eves of public holidays, and wkends, try to go there early OR go there by MRT - you save time, fuel and parking fees.

- there are only two entries and exits into Vivo, so during peak hours, there's always a high possibility of jamming.

(b) Though further, HarbourFront carpark maybe a better choice to park during peak hours, rather than waiting over@Vivocity.

I always park at H-Front... Park at the D lobby, take lift down to 2nd/3rd floor, walk thru linkway (super short distance nia), Vivocity liao... No need to wait, or make urself buay songs... Can even drive to top levels to OH LA LA... haaa

IIRC, parking rates at the H-Front Tower (the office building) is very cheap during wkends. But very expensive during wkdays... -.-

The design is horrible. The exit is so near to the traffic lights plus the exiting road is shared with the taxis coming out of the the taxi stand. If Sentosa got big event I think ppl get stuck for the whole night also can. Next time the casino open only, more chaotic.

kana stuck on the ramp once for 20mins, and still kana charged parking fees for their poor design ... now only go to Vivocity on weekdays and only if I have to.

ppl r lazy. although harbourfront is interconnected w vivo, ppl dont want to walk that extra inch from HF to Vivo...so ended up they like to queue for vivo and waste their time.

Yesterday when i went there, harbourfront carpark was full and the vivo basement carpark was full as well.

Yesterday was the first time i encountered total traffic standstill at vivo carpark. [thumbsdown]

Usually it was slow traffic which was still acceptable, but imagine I was stucked in that position for more than 1/2 hour!

Called the CSO hotline, no one picked up and was guided to voicemail and mailbox was full! I guessed many victims called to complain.\

Jus my luck to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. [shakehead]

My goodness! Have never experienced this kind of situation at Vivo before, though I used to go there all the time (Keppel Marina was my old workplace)! Sounds really terrible, my car could possibly overheat, as it often does in heavy jams!

I experience it last friday! The worse worse carpark ever. All the LED panel display are wrong!!!!!Display 50 over lots,I turn and navigate all the way,end up reach the end of the carpark with no even 1 lot available. All cars streaming in,cars parked at no designated area, making turn so inconvenience and dangerous for family with children walking around in the carpark.Think their management need to wake up their idea, clamp down all those illegal park which post hazard to user.Stop allowing vehicle to come in even it's full inside. The problem with electronic parking lot is when car went in but have not reach the lot,it still display as lots available. When 20 cars stream in with 15 lots, the 5 car will go in and roam, while 1 car exit and 2 more car went in,more car roaming inside. This is a very bad design!
