Kusje Supersonic November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 er..scientists is not even certain that black hole exist..at this moment, there hasn't been any visual imaging of a black hole.. Black holes are actually remnants of stars. Nuclear reaction in stars act as a force preventing a star from collapsing into itself due to it's gravity. When the fuel runs out, whatever leftover materials collapse onto itself into a sphere of immense density. If there isn't enough mass, the star will not evolve into a black hole. They may become dwarves or neutron star. Neutron stars are stars which have died but do not have the critical mass to evolve into a black hole. To put things in perspective, our sun have to pack all it's mass into the size of Singapore in order to become a neutron star. For our sun to become a black hole, it has to compress itself to even smaller size To spot a black hole, a telescope need to have the resolution equivalent 'seeing a leaf at Los Angeles from New York' because black holes are simply too small in size and too far away(to have an idea on insterstellar distance, if our sun is a grain of sand, the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, is about 8km away) Huh? Isn't it obvious that you will NEVER get any "visual imaging of a black hole" because black holes don't allow light to escape from the event horizon? Sciencists are very sure that black holes exist, they just aren't sure of the exact properties of a black hole. And oh, if crashing atoms together will produce blackholes that can consume earth, you'd already be dead because the first atoms already collided a few days ago. ↡ Advertisement

Vroomtattat 2nd Gear November 25, 2009 Author Share November 25, 2009 Interesting huh?? Didn't know you guys are into Astronomy . . . . space and all the stuff, Oort cloud, nebulas, galaxies, planets . . . . Sometimes I just stare into the night sky and wonder why we are here and for what purpose? Imagine in the near future when we have these small little atom smashers instead of engines in our cars, those buggers with oil fields in their backyards will be
Zyrofillica 1st Gear November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 atom smashers in our personal teleportation devices maybe. Cars would have been long gone like the dinos.
Mustank Hypersonic November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 man.....we will have atom guns, atom clocks, atom lighter, atom powered accelerator suits but the best of all atom homes meaning we will all live in gigantic space castles (space ships) and travel around earth and the universe. the atom house is so powerful that it can go fly anywhere in the world and the universe and beyong the universe and our zoos will be filled with zergs

Babyt 4th Gear November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 (edited) if Earth can exist w life.....i believe there are other beings out there far far far away. another thing that interest me would me the cloud formations. if u google/youtube ... u can find videos of cloud formations we never see in SG....like wall clouds etc....it makes the sky looks so devlish. That wouldn't exactly be considered a visual of a black hole because you can only see light and a black hole is the absence of light. There are other ways (other than finding the lack of light that you mentioned) that prove the existance of black holes such as its gravitational influence on huge stars. Porker Turbocharged November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 Black holes emit x rays through accretion disks. No nearby cannibalizing of stars in binary systems equals no accretion disk and therefore not detectable (for now at the very least). ↡ Advertisement
