Leepee 1st Gear November 20, 2009 Share November 20, 2009 Same lah. Dealers like to use lady driver lah, doctor lah, lawyer lah, 2nd car lah, etc to promote the car. The risks are all the same! Only worth if you buy from direct owner to understand the driving history. Lady driver so what? My bf wacked my SSS whenever cross over to jb. Want to buy my car? nUS gentle lady driver selling sss, never reved or raced. Safe driver. Believe it up to carbuyer.
Swingarm 1st Gear November 20, 2009 Share November 20, 2009 dont think so ... if me, i wud buy from a guy as they have rev the car.... then u bring ur mechanic and ask them to listen to the engin.... if the engin is good and they have rev the car... that means the car can survive... if u buy a lady's car... and suddenly u rev.... the car will get asthma as never sprint before.... Woonyang Clutched November 20, 2009 Share November 20, 2009 IMO, lady driver = little or no maintenance. grooming etc don't need to say. women will spend their $ on cosmetics, jewellery, clothes, shoes, bags etc and not on car. don't know why dealers use lady owner as selling point. to me, I see liao straight away eliminate. Watwheels Supersonic November 20, 2009 Share November 20, 2009 as above do you think they are more careful? tend to take care of the car better? I have come across guys who are just as clueless as women about cars and servicing. You have to see from many different povs. When the ad tells you the previous owner is a woman, that's just one clue that practically tells you nothing useful. Does not mean that all women are careful and it does not tells you they do not know how to take care of their cars. I can also say women treat their cars just like another accessory like a handphone. If smth is wrong with it, send it to the service center and they will take care of it. If the ad says previous owner is a doctor and the car is a reliable bread & butter car. That means he's not a cosmetic surgeon and most likely his schedules are fully packed, no time to go servicing and that's also why he chose a reliable boring car. Same thing for lawyer. It does not matter whether the ad says the previous owner is a lady , doctor or lawyer. It's all just gimmick to make ppl think it's a well taken care of car. In other words what I call giving ppl a false image. Even if the previous owner is a celebrity, it makes no difference, I rather the salesperson show me the service history of the car. ThePeak Neutral Newbie November 21, 2009 Share November 21, 2009 We as buyer must look n drive n feel the car....doesnt matter woman, man or even transvestite owner...owner just in the name...on paper...nothing else. As for those seller mentioning lawyer, doctor..etc...eerr u mean ppl in those profession nvr abuse their car?? or just bcoz they are seen as having financial power=on time or never slack in their servicing??.. Doosan 1st Gear November 21, 2009 Share November 21, 2009 not too long ago, in petrol kiosk, while walking back to my ride passing a lady's car, i pointed to her that her 7Oseries tires need to pump up more air. she said: no need, no need, these are low profile tires u know, they are like that one, low low type u know

Kyojin 1st Gear November 21, 2009 Share November 21, 2009 of course the best cars are "lady teacher owner's third car always parked under shelter and low mileage. never been to track and upgrading because new addition to family". i don't see how being owned by lady or gentleman can make a difference. in fact, in today's context, it's worse off because they were probably trying to hide a poor driving record or to lower insuranace rates (eg, registered for brother/husband/son who drives the car daily). also, at the risk of making sweeping statements, lady drivers may maintain the car in clean state, but they generally overlook the technical/mechanical aspect of car ownership. this means they may have stretched their servicing schedules etc. as with buying any used car, you should treat it as equal and make judgement based on the facts (service records, chassis alignment measurements, visual inspection, etc)
Intel Clutched November 21, 2009 Share November 21, 2009 Owned by a lady doesn't mean the car is good. Unless the person selling me the car tells me that the car is own by a mechanic. Thats a different story. My 17year old car which i own it for 2 years and running, previously own by a mechanic till now still running well without giving me any problem. ↡ Advertisement
