Although we are supposed to keep both hands on the wheel, I find myself increasingly driving with one hand (my right hand).

My left hand can be all over the place. Mostly on the front armrest, but sometimes on the gearlever, sometimes holding my phone (Shh...), sometimes on my lap.

Hands resting on lap, sometimes, but of course, only at traffic lights.

At low to medium speeds I find myself driving with right hand on steering wheel and left on gear knob. But recently, changing to a vehicle with column shift, the position is damn awkward so thankfully I am having both hands on the wheel most of the time and gradually correcting this bad habit.

I note that your question is actually worded as 'Do you like to drive with yr hands resting on yr lap?'. Strictly speaking, this is an incredible feat for any mortal to perform, minus those instances whereby he/she is driving along a long straight stretch of road...

yes, i drive with my right hand on the wheel (either right side or bottom) and left hand on my lap most of the time when cruising.

Both hands on the wheel when overtaking, changing lane or turning.

I drive with hands on steering wheel's bottom part. From outside, can't see any of my hands touching the steering wheel. Only on major turns will i show my hands and do the turns. :)
