What makes a Swift Sports so fast?

Speed is relative... 8.9 isn't fast if you have driven sub 6 seconds car...

The car is good on its high end for those who are current owners. Overtakes cars from 140-160 without much sweat...

Test drive it before commenting.

Swift Sport is simply a torquey car... considered quite fast in the 1.6 class but if u really wanna label the car fast... its far from that.

Anyway...any car can be fast. There are lancers that are still 1.6 NA SOHC doing ard 7 seconds. The old swift gti 1.3 lightly modded but running on standalone could pull out 6+ second timings...

10 seconds is nothing to shout abt especially when the car has a close ratio gb & high compression rate. In fact i'd be quite ashamed

without forced induction or engine swap, its almost impossible to hit these timings.

U will be very surprised... lancer with a set of exhaust system done well, relocated intake.... can hit around 8seconds plus on good street tires timed with RSM.

the 7 second lancers im talking about have mainly done up the IM etc, high cam...utilizing a piggyback.

the swift gti was NA, running on microtech & no engine swap.... main reason for its quick timing was due to its ridiculously light kerb weight.

which company does high cam for the CS3 lancer?

or is it just modifying from the stock cam?

i still have doubts in the 2 lancers you mentioned until i seen 1 with my own eyes.

IM,high cam, exhaust system alone won't get them so far.

the most i give it 140 bhp and i think its not going to hit below 8 sec.

haha! We got amateurs talking in the forum who knows nuts about cars going at sub 8 sec.

No Forced Induction and you can't get anywhere near 7 seconds. See Golf TSI etc.

I used to be a lancer driver. its a super heavy car... prob only when it hits 220bhp and above then can go below 8 seconds on a auto.

or mebbe u tokkin about lancer EVO?
