Topaz Clutched November 13, 2009 Share November 13, 2009 One of my uncle drive it, heard FC is rather high, ard 8-10 L/km but then again will depend on ur driving patterns.
Alex_bong Neutral Newbie November 16, 2009 Share November 16, 2009 3 way drive u mean the gear box thingy near gear knob? it's a knob let u choose 3 type of drive mode. 1. i- mode=fully auto and economy. 2. sport mode=longer engine rev between gear change to make ur car 'pick up' better but drink more fuel too. 3. Manual mode(tiptronic)= using + and - to shift the gear by ur own. but the system will lower dn the gear when u slow dn or go to stop. better speed control but consume more fuel too. I have driven a 2004 Legacy 2.0L with about 97K of milleage clocked for close to 2 weeks. Constantly getting about 12-12.5km/L with RON95 petrol, with 2 tanks consistent top-up. I almost can't believe it at 1st,but it's true after driving it yourself. All those myths about legacy are drinkers are not true, only valid to those Legacy GT. Verdict: Very nice car to drive, handling is better compared to Mazda6, Camry etc.

Mr_biscuit 3rd Gear November 19, 2009 Share November 19, 2009 Yup, 2.0R is the NA version (1 exhaust mufflers at each sides). 2.0I is also NA version, but with only 1 exhaust muffler.

This is a coutesy car for me when my own car is sent for accident repairs. White stock Legacy with stock 16" wheels. At 1st I also can't believe my own eyes, but it's re-confirmed after 2 full tanks of Esso RON95 petrol. I'm always a big fan of Subaru Legacy too, end of the day, I gained nothing out of it if I reported a fake FC. Cheers
Genesiz Neutral Newbie November 19, 2009 Share November 19, 2009 Im driving the R, on 18" rims, and im getting about 11 km/l. 75% highway driving. But once I use the sports mode and drive hard, it goes to about 9km/l

The FC is considered reasonably well for a ride like this on 18" wheels; Even in normal mode, the Legacy 2.0I I drove is incredibly smmoth on acceleration and despite its 4-speeder, the ratios are well matched.. Overall, this is 1 of the best 2L Jap car I loved based on it's styling, handling and driving position; It's an under-rated car in the local car community.. Accoridng to him when was with original 16" rim, can go about 10~11km/l. After changing to 17" can only get about 9+ km/l. Sometimes I will drive his car also. I think the handling for this car is very good.
Genesiz Neutral Newbie November 28, 2009 Share November 28, 2009 I agree that even though its a 4 speed, its gears are well ratioed. Was comparing this with JDM accord and a 2nd hand Mark X. No regrets for this buy except for the maintenance costs... ($700 for fuel filter compared to $60 for normal cars, spark plug changes costs $20 more for labour as its boxer layout)...
