Hi, anyone interested to rent out their car for long-term? It wud b great if somebody can start a new topic on renting out private-owned car.

Those having difficulties in clearing their monthly instalment, going outstation or have an extra car to rent out can consider calling me.

I've been looking for a car to rent on long-term basis (more than 10 yrs DE). Car-owners please call me to discuss.

yo bro, might wanna check out the legal repercussions of renting cars from private owners cos if not wrong might not be legal esp the insurance etc might not cover... which means if u crash u might be liable for it if the insurance companies dun wanna pay.. [thumbsdown]

Private rental is legal according to LTA.

However, they must be covered with the correct insurance for the period of rental.

The only problem here is... no insurance companies will provide cover for renting out private cars except for NTUC Income, but only for the weekend nia.

Bro, everything comes with a risk! U buy a car, got stuck financially, risk of not able to pay instalment, then come the risk of getting ur car repo, then risk of being serve legal suit and risk of being made a bankrupt.... so why not let somebody trustworthy to drive the car while u rebuild ur financial ground, rite or not? of coz, ur candidate must be someone u can trust! Don't deal thru third party like car dealer...fren of fren..

Most important is MUTUAL TRUST & PROPER UNDERTAKING DOCUMENTATION. I believe insurance coverage for 1st and 2nd party incl "driving with the permission from the owner"....

I've been renting for a year and have no problem so far with the car owner, touchwood!! Its like a business deal, build rapport and maintain friendship.
