Luckcent 4th Gear December 6, 2009 Share December 6, 2009 RP oil comes in 1 bottle containing 0.965 l so if your needs 4 l, it is best to buy 5 bottles. You can get it at m-------g. or pm Trex from this forum.
Pisces69 6th Gear December 6, 2009 Share December 6, 2009 (edited) The purpose of my survey to use RP is not the cost. As I went to a workshop recommended by a friend, the shop only use RP. The boss say RP till very good so I wanna ask you guys if its true. Now seems like other than cheap ( I also dunno exactly how much), there is no good feedback.. ================== I used to use RP since ty 1st started selling from the warehouse in Jurong (Mr. Bull). It was a cheap fully synthetic USA made oil of very high quality. Comparable if not better than Mobil 1 even. Put it in my COE Corona & it performed very well upto 10K km NO PROBLEM. Then I used it in my Optra but switched to CL cos the price of RP has been going up & up so CL gives me better value for money. I also used the RP Max ATF fully synthetic auto transmission fluid. Very good stuff but again due to price I switch to Toyota Type IV (mineral) to clean out my present Optras autobox & prob go back to RP Max ATF once the bal stock of my Type IV is finished. 1Qt used to cost only abt $6 if I bought in the pail so I used to share with 3 more kaki & we got the pail(21Lit). Now the price is abt same as Mobil 1(abt $12/qt) so I hv switched to CL 10w40 fully synthetic which cost abt $30/5 lit. ($6/lit). Cheap & good also. FYI RP is used in US by those reputable auto rebuilders & speciality shops for high performance engines. Its very popular in US & used for many race & high performance cars. Just like CL which is popular in UK race circles. The only reason I stopped using RP is cos of the price getting to ex. Other than that I found the RP products I used to b of a very high quality. If u have it in your car, do not worry as it is a good quality product. Not some snake oil. I am not connected to RP in any way other than being a customer. If you had watched the movie "G.I. Joe" a few months back, you would have noticed that Royal Purple is the designated lubricating oil G.I. Joe uses. They have lots of it in their headquarter. Pisces69 6th Gear September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 This type of high end 100%Syn oil usually can lasts 10,000km with no problem. Ya I used RP when ty first started seling in SG many years ago. Easily last 10K km. Its a damm good oil but was cheap last time. Then the price kept going up up n up till its about the same price of Mobil 1 so I dun use it anymore. Even their Max ATF fully synthetic is damm good stuff but now too ex for me. I now using C@rlube engine oil n ATF which is also very good but much cheaper. We drive very lightly in SG so dun really need such expensive oil. Just a cheap n good oil wil do.
