Roberttan 5th Gear May 6, 2013 Share May 6, 2013 let market decide their service charges we should not make it a standard price for any service, exp if 1 have to remove a tyre size 14"(worth around $150 and 20"(worth $1000) to do a repair how can the work is equally the same Let be fair to the service provider let them decide the charges and if one think the charges is not justified leave them alone and dont go to them that all we can do.It is not nice to go there and tell them this should be the charges and you do the repair for me each of every service provider has diff operating cost and method of repair . so let the market forces play the game just MHO ↡ Advertisement

Eg: price of tires...labour charges to do certain work...spray painting....panel knocking....etc. Like fr so long in any good public forum...we share good prices to prevent unscruplous pple from overcharging ignorant customers. This way good shops wil b poromoted n not good shops wil b highlighted. Once ty know u trust them n not going to check their prices or quality......they quietly start increasing their prices n giving u lower quality so ty earn more money. Beregond Supersonic May 7, 2013 Share May 7, 2013 tyre patching n repair there is no warrently 1, its not a easy job , if u see what the mech is doing, esp if u using a big rim for suv tyres, 6 sgd to 10 sgd , that dun mean much to most driver, what important to me is the tyre shop try his best to patch my tyres. give u 1 good example i encounter. i got a puncture at night, the shop i visit tell me story like wire come out bababa cannot patch, die die want me to replace new, i refuse. then pay for labour to change spare, and visit my regular to patch, 8 sgd 1 poke with worm. i pay happily, i know there are shop that recommend by bro here doing 6 sgd for 1 worm patch, but who can promise me that shop wont give me story or pressure me that my tyres cannot be use any more???? another good example my personal experience also. i kia kiang go order some fancy track tyres oversea, my regular tyre shop charge me 25 sgd to install 1 pcs. i refuse cos i feel the cheapest i can find in about 60 sgd for 4 pcs then i go to that place in amk to install, its a very low profile tyres, the guys struggle with it quite long, manage to inintall, the way they handle my rims i very not happy, any how knock .2 ppl use crow bar to force my tyres in. alot of knocking on my rim, every knock my heart pain 1 time. worst after 3 month i realise 1 tyre leaking air, i visit 2 shop all cannot find puncture. in the end go back my neighbouhood tyre shop ask the boss help me after some sweet talk lol. waited 1 hour for the boss to be free to entertain me, then guess wat , he open the tyre to check, and the leaking tyre have a broken bead, air leaking out from between the rim and the tyres. end of story, my conclusion, visit tyre shop is like visit doctor, find a regular that u trust, so wat he is not the cheapest in town. u visit him often he already make money from u, when u got problem, he will help u willingly. that goes the same as work shop who repair/service my car,

So to be fair Every business is to Make Profit. If one only focus on Price or COST you will probably ended up buy the Prices and cost NOT the Products and Services
