Top Gear Automatic vs Semi-Automatic vs Manual

Have only tried Alfa's selespeed. Its like an auto that shifts very quick. Is the feeling of DSG the same?

Frankly I am very biased towards Alfa - you won't catch me saying much against them, but the DSG is a better system (Alfa is getting it soon)

The DSG the shift is faster and smoother as uses two clutches, the selespeed only has one.

The strength of the system is that both use what is at its core a manual gearbox, which has a lot of advantages over a manual - including better power deliver, less fuel consumption and being more robust (as well as lighter)

The biggest complaint against the selespeed is that it is "jerky" but this mostly comes down to drivers inexperienced with the system - if you want to drive it smooth then the difference between a selespeed and an auto is barely perceptible (I actually rode in the 147 selespeed the other day, and the drive was smoother than my wish)
