I love Audi better than BMW ;)

Audi have all the ingredient to overtake BMW , but the setback now is the low resale value, in time to come it will pick up.

Audi product lineup are too close to VW other than Quattro.

if i ever contemplated between the two, even if audi had the right ingredients, i know that i would still end up with a bmw. Sad but true. In that range, it's either merc or beemer for me.

Neutral Newbie

See this video? the new 5 series.

Look at the movement through the corners, almost no bodyroll. nimble like a small car yet it is longer than 4.8 meter.

Audi wise:

They are both good ,but different

I love my bimmer but my brother's Audi comes real close in stealing my heart! :)

Why?

ADVANTAGES

Exterior

1. Its very muscular looking, with its broad flanks and aggressive stance.

2. LED daytime running lights

3. LED rear brake lights

4. Yummy quad exhaust

5. Nice coloured brake calipers!

Interior

1. Lottsa buttons!

2. MMI is much faster due to maps on HDD instead of CD

3. Sport seats that look like Recaros

4. Start-up sequence is a joy to watch. U get to see the needles do a sweep.

DISADVANTAGES

1. Moonroof doesn't actually open! It only tips upwards.

2. C-pillar is a tad big.

3. U can't rev the car in park/neutral. It cuts off at 4,000rpm!

4. Mod potential is not as much as the Bimmer, but since its a new platform, we will have to wait.

5. Most important disadvantage: Handling just doesn't matter the bimmer. Audi makes u know that you are driving a big/wide car. The Bimmer shrinks around u and makes overtaking/cornering a lot more fun!

With that being said, the 4WD of the Audi does give u more confidence and is not as tail happy as the Bimmer... Oh well, I prefer the rush of the drive of the Bimmer!

Go Bimmer! :)

I seriously doubt that.

As someone had said in this thread, the Audi today is just another glorified VW.

Sharing almost everything in engine, transmission and drive configuration. No good.

That to me, does not constitute having "all the (right) ingredients" to overtake BMW, poor resale value (which is a fact) notwithstanding ... especially those CMI FWD models brought in to SG (duh!).

Huh? You mean ...

Merc have all the ingredient to overtake BMW

Merc has done much to improve the quality of its cars since their 2000-2005 low point.

The current C-Class is so well built. It rides and drives [thumbsup]

I have test drive mercede C class it is below Lexus standard, but E300 new model is very amazing to me, the handling surpass BMW and Lexus. But for refinement no european car can match Lexus,

Bro Davc posted this video before. With the same professional driver at the helm, it appears the new E Class still can't match the current 5 Series around the bends.

The E300 which is test driven give me a very special feeling which i don't know how to describe , is powerful and turning corner is just like going straight road. The feeling is very amazing to me.

I disagree.

The C-Class has to be compared to an IS and I do own a Lexus IS.

The ride quality of the IS is not the refinement that you would get in the GS or upward Lexus models.

In fact, even with stock 17" profile-50 tyres, the ride can be considered trashy on uneven roads.

And yes, I can confirm that roughness in ride of a Lexus IS on such mediocre road quality.

The C-Class, which comes with stock 17" profile-60 tyres gives a much more refined ride.

Engine-wise, I don't think there is much separating the V6 refinement of the C280 (which I was referring to and eyeing at buying ..... definitely not the 1.8 Kompressor models, which I won't touch) and the IS' V6. Both are par excellent modern V6 engines, IMHO.

I think compared to Lexus, Merc and BMW, the fact remains that Audi falls at the bottom of the heap, when it comes to ride refinement.

The consensus after so many debate i think singaporean still Love BMW more than AUDI , but going forward BMW need to work hard as AUDI pose a big tread to BMW as have been notice in europe seen starting of this year. Is good for BMW as than it will increase their performance and reliability for BMW lover.

I think the interior deseigners from BMW need a creative inspiration before i can safely buy one. They have boring interiors. Too bad i can't mix and match Audis interior with BMW's driving characteristics.

Yeah, I would sure like a car that:

1. Rides like a Merc

2. Drives/handles like a BMW

3. Grips bends like a quattro and

4. Idles like a Lexus and as reliable too!

Note: For item 3, Merc has 4-Matic and BMW has x-Drive, but for reasons unknown, are not brought in as sedan options here in SG (only for their SUV derivatives). These will be a match for Audi's quattro sedans, if they are also available here.

Well put! Add the Mark Levinson sound system from the Lexus, and this would be close to my ideal car. [:)]
