Should we wipe the car dry after rain?

I have asked around and generally got 2 responses.

YES: Dry it and it'll look clean. Prevents water spots too.

NO: You'll introduce more scratches due to the dirt that sticks to the water beads.

So what do you think?

Depends - if it's a heavy downpour, I'll just wipe dry as the dirt would've been washed away.

You got the correct answers.

I suggest to just leave it.

Imagine if it rains every single time you drive out, are you going to wipe every single time?

wash and wipe dry..

if you just wipe dry, then you are doing more harm..

as for water mark, it's only more apparent when it's a hot and sunny day..

Depen on the age of car,

One week old, rain or no rain also wash and wipe everyday. Admire, enjoy it all the time.

After one month, wash once a week. Rain, dont care lar.

After one year, wash when needed.

After 5 years, wash only on important occassion or just before trading in.

Myself wet at times also did not wipe dry, not to talk about my ride. I bought the car to serve my needs, not to become its slave.... [laugh]

No, don't wipe dry... every time I ride my Kuwi Bravo KT in the rain, I leave it to drip/air dry..... Used to wipe my Redline Proline and the chome body got fine hairline scratches from the dirt/sand left on the frame. Remember, you get splashes from other road users... and the rain is not 100% pure distilled water liao.... contaminated as it comes down to earth.

I personally think that we shouldn't wipe the car after rain unless you go for a proper car wash.

Not every corners' particles are removed by the rain.

So, when you wipe the car -> scratches will appear~

End of the day, I admit that I am just plain lazy. Thus, giving excuses~ Hee!~
