Head of the most talented family in singapore, all in their present positions due merit and merit alone. even daughter in law so talented from engineer to investment fund CEO, really smart woman even Chip goodyear also cannot replace her. if only all singaporeans have mr lee's genes, we will not need FT anymore but alas he also stop at 3, he should have more.....

I wonder who paid for the expenses though.

I know Obama donated his entire Nobel peace prize money. However, the cost of his trip there apparently costs US taxpayers more than the actual gift itself.

Neutral Newbie

i think the US is giving the award after assesssing everything that he has done that is

the pros and cons and finally a final score which Mr. Lee score high

the criteria nobody knows I guess

but Mr. Lee does deserved the award for what he did in the past

but i guess not many are happy with current situation

which is understandable

i remember once I dislike my boss way of thinking but once you become your own boss you realise there is alot more to think and do about than just job satisfaction

nobody can please everybody

so we have to accept them for what they are and move on

partiicipate if one thinks one can contribute if not be happy with what we already have

once we compare but not putting things on par the comparison is skewed

so lets celebrate with him at least for this time

I think Catherine Lim summed it up very well in her article "The PAP and the people - A Great Affective Divide".

I feel most people do not want PAP to be completely overthrown but they do want to be heard & respected by the MIW.

His achievements were indeed remarkable. I believe many middle-aged Singaporeans will celebrate for him.

But now 3rd gen of Peanut Man le... seems like there is a larger income gap in the country le.

opportunities used to be abundant for ppl in the 80s and (arguably) 90s. But somehow, things changed le. Influx of FT made everything worse.

I got friends from other countries studying here, some already PR le. Made friends with them, some very close, but somehow thinking how they are gg to snatch our jobs... Haiz. The feeling is really ambivalent.
