Hi all,

Anyone have installed the SMartTag instead of just the Touch n' go card? Find toll clearance kinda convenience with it, don't have to wind down windows and flash the card on the pad. The device is an one-time RM130. I wonder by putting up the card reader would increase chances of attracting glass smasher or not [laugh].

Regards,

i do have one..i just place it on the dash when traveling on the highways and keep it in the glove compartment after crossing the final toll. Very convenient i must say although not a necessity.

Don't have to be so troublesome one, just place an anti-slip mat on the dashboard with the smart tag device on it and the barrier will automatically lifted once go near the Smartag lane. I've tried on my company car in MY and it works. In Malaysia, you can transfer your smart tag device from car to car [laugh]. Singapore, ERP type cannot suka suka transfer from one car to another.

Cannot. The Smartag is using infrared unlike our IU, which is using RF. Must put on the dashboard and facing the correct side, the TouchNGo card at the bottom.

not too sure abt black socks but i always keep my smart tag in a small black plastic bag (those use by pirated VCD) and place it on the dash. the smart tag work like normal. i choose black plastic bag so that it deosnt attract too much unecessary attention if i forget to keep in the drawer. The only downside is, plastic is slipery and the smart tag cannot stay on 1 spot even with anti slip matt. maybe i will try with black sock when i go malaysia, see whether it works...

I'm using it since I travel frequently to Msia. It does save up a lot time, don't have to queue together with the rest of touch & go users. I normally put the device inside compartment and only take it out when using it.
