Cavver 4th Gear February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 Chevrolet Orlando. It fits your budget and priorities. I would suggest estate wagons like optra since orlando is heavier and boots is not that big. ↡ Advertisement
Ake109 6th Gear February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 50km/hr was really crazy to travel on highway......I remeber my ex gf from taiwan says if gov in taiwan reduce their speed limit to 50km/hr there would be riot everywhere in taiwan in sg nobody dare to make noise I drove a KE70 panel van back in the days of 50kph. Until today I still feel sore that I kena for 'speeding' at 70kph by this Staff Sarge TP at 6am in the morning on a clear AYE. Even with a 4 speed gearbox, keeping to 50kph was a strain.
Bieffe 2nd Gear February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 Ya euro van is really not too good. Especially if you the owner is not always the driver. All drivers/workers will kill it for you. However the Fiat Diablo 1.3 has been a kick to drive. Many major parts have been replaced. Compared to old liteace, hiace and L200. This thing the repair is KNN. I've driven diablo for 7yrs. Replace all these and is very expensive -rear view mirror keep falling off! Replace 2 times -fan blower -a/c compressor - power window -clutch -2 door hatches and 1 door handle -suspension -more than 9 batteries! None of my old vans including 3rd to 4th hand vans gave me so much problem so often. So that's it. No more.
Keira 4th Gear February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 Yeah my Hijet S200 i bought it at its 12th year, replaced many wear and tear parts for the last 2.5 years. Spent quite a bit on it already. Low on maintenance maybe, but not problem-free. No such thing as problem-free vehicles i suppose. For Kangoo and Combo, from what i heard from people(not sure how true), the authorised dealer workshops do not stock up on some of its spare parts. So when these parts need replacement, they have to import. If vehicle still able to move, maybe still ok. If not, have to park in workshop and wait for the part to arrive. Business lost. I personally do not want to buy european vehicles. But currently, besides the NV200(which runs on Renault), all newer small vans are eurovans. No choice, have to make them as part of my considerations. Dont want to get bigger van like Hiace since parking at my home is a problem(too tall to enter). If Suzuki Every becomes available again, that will be good. Haha. I also do hope that Suzuki Every can make it here again in sg, Back then it really captured some stares when driving along orchard Q-ing to go into cineleisure carpark.
Watwheels Supersonic February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 I would suggest estate wagons like optra since orlando is heavier and boots is not that big. The middle row of seats can fold to give a large boot space no problem. I believe if he's working the kids will be at school. The slightly raise ride height won't give you a backache like an estate would when loading/unloading heavy boxes. Anyway no more optra available now they are selling the Cruze wagon. Plus he wants to occaionally sit 6 if you haven't notice. A wagon won't be comfy cramming 6 ppl into it. If he wants to max out ppl and cargo he can always fit a set of roof rack and roof tray. It's all depending on the owner's know how to fully utilise it.

Although its much slower but at least slightly better than riding a motorcycle and no more rain clothes.

FurionLfg September 25, 2017 Share September 25, 2017 Very bad idea to buy a GPV. Crazy ARF and no rebate. Crazy depreciation, resale value same as LGV. Cannot go Malaysia. I bought it and then found out.
