[/b]2) Look at NGV.... how long has it been introduced??? Hybrids??? electric cars??? Common sense will tell you that these inventions will put ALOT of people out of jobs... and also make the goverment income less. so why would it be feasilble overnite? unless a solution is found for the will be jobless oil refinery people...[/b]

hydrogen fuel cell is a technology that is far from being ready for general road use. it's proven to be the cleanest propulsion with only water and heat as the only products and it's got the highest energy content per unit mass.

that said, almost all countries are not ready to use hydrogen fuel widely for a few reasons and it's economically not viable:

1. it's a brand new infrastructure. you need new fuel stations

2. high barrier of entry - high technology costs

3. inefficient to extract hydrogen

4. storage in-car. it vapourizes quickly and can't be stored in cars for long.

so if you are saying that a $2000 (or whatever price) system can create hydrogen, i'm sure all vehicle manufacturers would have caught onto and started developing similar technologies. Linking Stan Meyer's death to oil companies is hogwash. He tried to sell the system to investors but when he could not deliver, he was sued. During the legal proceedings, he could not produce the product and gave feeble excuses during the court case. Meyer's claims were also widely discredited by fellow researchers and academias.

get your facts right: BMW Hydrogen 7 runs purely on hydrogen GAS. not water electrolysed in the car to give H2 and O2. it burns hydrogen directly in the ICE.

CNG/NGV is viable technology that is widely used in Malaysia, Thailand, China and many other countries. you need infrastructure. it benefits from the fact that it can be run bi-fueled. but you suffer from lost space from the tanks. there are a few cars that are solely fueled by CNG. one example that comes to mind is the Civic GX that is not available here. you still need petrol as backup because the infrastructure is not there. Electric cars are not viable yet because they cannot give you the range. Hybrids save fuel, they are not exactly free from petrol. so at the end of the day, you still need petrol one way or another. refinery people... are still needed to make plastics, glass, CNG/NGV, etc. government can impose taxes on these. it's a weak argument.

the so-called water-splitting system is snake oil. it takes a lot of energy to split the hydrogen and oxygen atoms apart in a water molecule. hydrogen is an energy carrier and not an energy source, which means the amount of energy used to extract the hydrogen is equal to the amount of energy the hydrogen can produce when burned. tell me, how efficient is that?

i think people have to be a bit more well informed and knowing the BASIC facts before calling others idiots or ignorant. it's simply a case of pot calling the kettle black. [rolleyes]

never ever play with Hydrogen, walao, now you even want to play Hydrogen + Oxygen? This 2 element will click together damn fast and create the most impressive explosion show on the road....with you being roasted inside til death lol!

Still remember the history lesson about Hindenburg disaster?

Malaysia megazine.. all the rubbish and their politics. I even doubt such technology is even ready, even if they are right.
