Can my notebook's SD slot read SDHC cards?

Inserted a SDHC card into my notebook's SD slot.... but notebook unable to detect it. Is this normal? Do i need separate reader for SDHC? Thx. Sorry..new to DSLR.....

How old is your laptop? The newer ones, maybe less than two years old, with built-in card reader should be able to handle SDHC. My laptop, which is slightly older, unfortunately cannot. So, I have to buy a SD card reader for it. Sigh...

You can always drop a mail to the service support and ask them.

 

My 2 year old Fujitsu laptop just need a driver update from them and I can read already.

 

No harm asking though.

it depends bro.if it's an old laptop,it needs a driver update.but be warned though,some manufacturers/models don't have the driver update for SDHC cards.(I've experienced it on a 2 yr old Acer Desktop.They've even sent me an official email regarding that particular model)
