saw a lime green kia koup with big velocity wings , big rims and a type R sticker on the boot.

what a joker.

Was bullied all the way by a souped up accord JDM who tailed him, cajoled him and forced him into slowest lane.

felt sorry for the Kia Koup driver

anyone test driven the 6-speed 1.6 koup? do share ur feedback here.

Am tempted to see how much i have to top up to trade in my old koup for new one....but most important thing is to check the ratios for the 6 gears vs the 4 gears. If the top gear is actually not much difference from the 4th gear in the 4 gear version, then may not make much difference in the end. In other words they just put the 6 ratios closer to each other. Bearing in mind that without dual clutch, a 6 speed would most likely change gears more often resulting in "jerkier" ride.

Don't understand. Do u mean a single clutch 6 speed will likely change gear more often than a dual clutch 6 speed?

think it shares the same engine as the creato forte hence u cant expect sports car performance. but the looks, accessories and pricing is indeed good. will be great if they come out wif a turbo or a higher specs version. [thumbsup]

Ideal for anyone with a tight budget to own a sports car wannabe ???

No, wat i meant is with more ratios, de auto gearbox will change more often than de 4 speed hence, being not dual clutched, ride may be more jerky due to de more frequent changing of gears.

er... its dual clutched... no jerky ride... super smooth...

My ride 1.6A Koup 6speed super smooth.... Lack of acceleration power on normal "D" Mode. Compensate with "Sportronic" paddleshift.

The Kia/Hyundai 6 speed auto is a torque converter unit, not dual clutch. A dual clutch gearbox like VWs uses a manual gearbox with automated clutch and gear engagement.

A torque converter unit will always be smoother than an automated manual but VW cleverly incorporated 2 clutches and solved this problem to a great extent. I haven't tried VWs DSG but have tried Alfa's Selespeed, BMWs SMG, Citroen's 2-tronic and gearchanges are not smooth at all.

That is why most auto boxes are still torque converter units.

The Koup 6-speed gearbox is a torque convertor unit and changes gear smoothly like all torque convertor units. Its doesn't have a clutch.
