Alot of .exe folder created automatically - Is it virus?

I saw alot of .exe folder created in the folders.

 

Is this caused by virus?

yes, only way to solve is by reinstalling it. If anyone got any better answer, pls kindly correct me.

I used AVG ... and they could remove it.

 

But I am not sure how effective it is.

machine may be infected with a variant of the worm, so update with the latest signature. however if you use "chiong" AV or a free AV, then there is nothing much can do unless you get tech support to help you...

Hate to say this to you but AVG sucks big time. Get some serious AV software like Kaspersky or Nod32.

 

Only recourse is to re-install OS. The time spent on re-installing OS will be less painful than the time spent on removing the viruses.

The free AVG one managed to remove all of them .....

The virus is on a thumbdrive .... so how do we "re-install" the OS?

 

I still reinstall my OS on the PC liao .....

I brought my thumbdrive to KL ... came back .... got this problem already.

 

So I suspect I kana from my friend's notebook.
