Just see the profit margins they make per car.

sgcarmart has the data. They call it the premium.

"The premium is the percentage by which the listed price is higher than the total basic cost paid by the car dealer to bring in the vehicle."

Honda Jazz - Premium 9% to 17%

Hyundai Getz - Premium 25% to 33%

Perodua Myvi - Premium 49% to 50%

Daihatsu Sirion - Premium 22% to 30%

50% profit margin for the Perodua dealer!!!

Think i'm fortunate enough to buy an OPC Saga for just 22K w/o insurance [drivingcar] ,think Proton SG only makes 20-30% depend on your installment.Free rear tinted,2x servicing and and free full tank of petrol when i collect the car. [thumbsup]

Neutral Newbie

why wanna mod these cars... just get a better car tats it wat... cos potentially how much faster can these unproven cars go??? anyway modding in malaysia doesn't mean approve in SG, then inspection time need go back Msia reinstate. niway its not cheap. just my opinion no hard feelings pls.. [drivingcar]

no hard feelings... [:)]

but have you seen before Myvi drag races? bro its fast! look out for the pasir gudang weekend races...

also modding in SG also does not mean approve ah... LTA so strict... but has been much much lax compared to the 90s... :D

Modifying a car is an art. everybody has different styles, mods are according to taste and mostly knowledge...

cheers.. [thumbsup]

To each his own,Everyone has thier own preferences. If not SG will be dull full of conti and jap makes only.Same goes to my bro driving Audi A4 why he must pay more to get 1.8 german marque at the price of 2.4 litre Jap sedan.I buy Malaysian car cause i do own a house in JB,And 90% of serviving is done there.Dunno why some Singaporean drivers love to stereotype Malaysian and Korean made car like no quality and no standard??Thought Singapore is a democratic society got freedom of choices?

ya true but modding is never an art if the mechs doing it...

i'll give u respect if u doin it yerself [thumbsup]. .. but i don c any1 in singapore really get down dirty to mod themselves... the most go to workshop change pipe la change filter la change bodykit la, add gauges la, add ecu la...then change tire la rims la... looked more heavy but later whaack only 120-130kmh... waste money rite??
