Hi bros, anyone know of place to duplicate my car key.

I'm looking for those with black plastic head with honda logo, w/o any remote controls.

I've searched many places but only managed to find the closest is those with remote control. I asked the guy see if can duplicate it w/o adding any remote control device in it but he say cannot. I don't understand why.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply bro.

Mine no immobilzer just a normal key. But can they use a key with immobilizer to duplicate my normal key just that the immobilizer is as of no use? just wanna use the normal key only...

Don't understand the part whereby, even they come out with they key, can only use to open door, cannot start engine.

Isn't it still the same key i use to open door and start engine now ?

hmm.... [confused]

Bro,

The immobiliser is chip that is embeded in the engine. If I am not wrong, it prevents ignition when the chip in the car is different from the chip in the key.

Its an added feature to prevent thief as if you lose your key, and have the immobiliser in your car re-programmed, the key you lost will be useless to start the engine.

It can be used to open the car door as the locks are only based on the cutting of your key like any household door.

Hence as long as the key as the same cut as the locks of the car door, the door can be opened. No immobiliser needed.

If you want to duplicate a normal key, look for this shop Newton @ turf city (98518557). Did mine with him. Very knowledgable, friendly and I was very impressed.

Hi Bro I'm driving a Civic EK 4 that doesn't have any chip. Just a normal open door + start engine. Is it possible to just duplicate it using the new key with immobiliser but ignoring the chip inside?

Neutral Newbie

Hi guys! after reading your post i realise why my engine cannot start using the duplicate key. Is there any shops that can duplicate this properly?

Actually this is wat happen - my usual car key got broke at the head. So i went to Shukey at Lucky Plaza to duplicate. It costs $70. After that everything worked except starting the engine. Checked with the uncle who duplicate - he doesn't seems to know why? btw i drove a Mitsubishi Lancer. I checked with Mitsubishi service center..they say it costs $250.

yup..anyone suggest wat i should do? i think $250..is kinda painful...heh

There's a shop at turf city that will duplicate the key and transfer the immobiliser chip to the new fob.
