Was one of the cars I was looking at....

Had quite a long test drive, probably the most comfortable convertible in the market at this price range.

My wife actually fell asleep in the back seat while I was driving. She loved it.

Other than that, it felt detached to the road but it's not for outright performance anyway.

i rem there were quite a few pre-owned as i was looking too. read the FL is coming.

btw, wat concerned me was the boot opening too high up when the roof is retracting/closing.

the other one with more performance and almost equally spacious rear is the A3 cabrio, although the backseats were not as "corsetting" as the volvo's. and it has a nicer dash board too.

Drives quite fine but doesnt hold the road as well as a BMW in the same class (ie 325cabrio)

Interior is clean cut (just like my old S40)

Leather quality is average and definitely not as solid as the BMW

Power delivery is fair and definitely nifty. (BMW wins with less bhp)

Hate the silly antenna sticking out (again the BMW wins)

Boot space basically non existent with top down.

Rubber seals on hardtop doesnt feel durable. (BMW wins)

good value for a RHT Cabrio overall

Should pay no more than $120k for a 2007 in my opinion

consider the VW Eos , better make overall and TFSI engine is good although volvo 5 cyc is also very hardy.

good luck in your search

Tnx bro, ur feedback was great. I went dwn to the pre-owned dealer. Sat in the C70, 320 & a C200. Yes, I agree with U. Was more intrigued by the 320 n C200. In the end i bought the low spec PI C200, 1.5 yr old. Thanks for ur feedback.

^_^ sorry to dig up a old post here.

i had a discussing with my wife lastnite, talking about getting a spacious convertible and i was already eyeing on the c 70 used car 2007

which we saw on sgcarmart.

frankly speaking i know nuts abt volvo beside knowing is bomb proof tank class [laugh]

a 3 or 4 year old vovlo c 70 any high wear and tear on such age , plus car servicing at sm motor will it cost me a bomb?

these will be some factors im concerned.

thanks~ [wave]

As long as you perform the usual due diligience drills (get a Vicom/STA assessment for accident repair, call up SM Motors to find out service history, your own test drive/inspection) it should be no diff from buying other pre owned marques. The brand has been in the market uninterrupted for decades...

You can visit http://forum.volvosgclub.com/start/ forum to ask more questions there. Also a list of workshops apart from SM that is familiar with Volvo. Good hunting... :D

A friend had one. The foldable hard-top could not operate when parked on a slope! He was told this was a safety feature. [laugh] After about 8 months, the roof start rattling. Went in to get it fixed several times, but results were not impressive. [bigcry] Wind noise at 90km/h was quite bad with the roof deployed. Was told it was a rubber seal issue. Change the seal under warranty but noise remained. Was then told it was a design issue. [speechless] After 18 months of ownership, he could not take any more of the irritations and sold the car! Said it was the best decision he ever made although he lost $45k driving it for 1.5 years! He bought a BMW 335 convertible. No complaints so far. Last we checked on his C70, its still in the pre-owned market, perhaps waiting patiently for the next unsuspecting owner to come along... [wave] Good luck in your search !
