1fast1 Supersonic October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 Excellent. I can market a "full-body protection kit" for drivers of sporty convertibles - earplugs for the noise, goggles for eye protection, driving gloves for better grip on the steering... ...and a condom in case the blonde bimbo in the passenger seat gets really excited by the drive and wants to reward the driver. Well they're debating in California whether to make helmets compulsory for top-down driving....

Sg2303 2nd Gear October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 yeah, i find that driving top down gets quite loud sometimes, especially in the cte tunnels. And winding up the windows reduces the noise level pretty much.
Sg2303 2nd Gear October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 If they make wearing helmet compulsory in sg, I rather not drive with top down.

Darkblue 1st Gear October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 wearing helmet compulsory sounds like a good plan for extra safety
Stary Turbocharged October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 If they make wearing helmet compulsory in sg, I rather not drive with top down. But think about it...even if there is no law to it, it is better to wear a helmet when driving with the top down. I mean if you get into accident, who knows what will fly on top of your head? A lose tyre or something hitting onto someone head is enough to kill.
Throttle2 Supersonic October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 most convertibles already have roll bars which activate upon impact to prevent drivers and passenger from losing their heads. if scared dont drive convertible. things which are more stylo usually have more sense of danger. thats life. in terms of noise. Singapore context. I drove with windows up and air con on in my previous cabrio. no problem.
