Think it's the remote start where you can start the engines remotely by pressing a button on the key. My NS mate was using one on his Wish about 3-4 yrs ago.

I dont know got this technology.. hahah.

My NS mate thought it was cool when he installed it. One day a guy was looking at his ride and he remotely started the engine. The guy jumped and was shocked. The he gave a kick on the car and ran away. My friend then found his door with a dent!!! [bigcry]

Any idea how much it'll cost to install it? Lost contact with my NS mate since.

i got my set (alarm module, siren, shock sensor, 2 remote controls with LCD display) secondhand for $50. cost me around $70 to install. installation is damn tedious. i think cheapest in the market incl installation is ard $350. its quite good i can say. warms up the engine before moving off.

still need to insert the key?

what it does is it 'hotwires' your car and allows the engine to be to be started without the physical insertion of the key, thus allowing you to start the car from a distance. BUT as a safety precaution, if the key is not inserted before driving off, the engine would stop itself.

I dont think thats true, u dun even need to put the key in.. as long as the key is in yr pocket u can drive.. so if yr not in the car but near it some1 else in the car can drive it a certain distance...

But there are several different system, so maybe the one yr talking about is different.

and there is THAT system but its not remote start (top gear: hint hint)

the idea of this remote start system is to start the engine from a distance without being physically near it. (eg. mine has a max range of 4000m, but in singapore with all the concrete...) kinda different from the keyless entry which is existent in the latio.
