the truth is, many of us wish that we can be successful by being a rogue like Wei Xiaobao (always doing things for his own benefit, cheating, swindling, and end up being so successful)

guess it's a dark side to mere mortals like us. In a way, he's the lead that most of us could be (unlike the Zhang Wuji, Guo Jing, etc).

You are only required to be able to sweet talk and to have extremely thick skin

 

Zhang Wu Ji and Guo Jing also din sweet talk to the gals and they are not thick skin (maybe only Guo Jin cos he skill was very low and always kanna hit by his 7 masters initially )

 

Guo Jing only got 1 gal like him that is Huang Rong. He is jus sincere and straight forward guy. Although he is not yan dao like the Yang Kang or Ou Yang Ke but Huang rong jus like him. He dun have to sweet talk to Huang Rong.

 

Zhang Wu Ji also din sweet talk much. In his life, most of the things are arranged by others or by chances he got it. He din go after the gals. Its the 4 gals that love him so much.

 

I remember 1 part in the story where he looked at the 4 gals and thinking who he really love...

2. Xiao Zhao, he is doting her a lot. Xiao Zhao always so sweet, thoughtful and caring.

yes, it is in the form of serialization when 1st published, everyday a bit in newspaper. louis cha took a break for awhile and have Ni Kuang help him fill in during tt period. One notable addition to the novel was that Ni Kuang wrote the section when one of the characters, A Zi, was blinded.

 

Ya, I think I read it somewhere. But later part when Jing Yong took over, he re-write to let Ah zi recover her eyesight (eyes from Zhuang Xian Jui).

yes he did edit the endings. but xiao feng still dies, notable one is wang yuyan did not end up with duan yu, went back to her mad cousin instead. duan yu married all his flings after he knows that there are no blood ties between them and is grandfather of Reverned yideng of condor heroes.

 

also another change, xiao feng use 28(no typo)-dragon subdue palm. only towards ending den he and xu zhu edit it and become 18-dragon subdue palm. he pass on the skill and and dragon beating staff style to xu zhu and instruct the beggar sect to find one suitable candidate in the future and look for xu zhu to learn the skills and lead the beggar sect in the future, all happened before he died.

A bit not used to Duan Yu did not get married with Wang Yu Yan.. but he also married with the 4 maids of Xu Zhu.

Anyone can guess whose Ku Fu is the highest amongst all Jin Yong character?

 

Someone did ask Jing Yong who has the highest level of Ku Fu in all his characters..

 

He think for a while then say should be Xu Zu of 天龍八部. Cos he inherit the 70 years Ku Fu from Wu Ya Zhi. He also learnt many special and powerful skill from the Ling Jiu Kong.

Why no one talk about 笑傲江湖?

 

I like Lin Hu Chong, during the part he knows actully his little Shi Mei loving the Ling Shi di, he is very very sad. In the mountain, he very sick and very weak.

 

I find his has a sad character (keep thinking about little shi mei) but he also got his Hao Qing and very helpful to the Heng Shan Sect.

 

Wu Zhao Sheng You Zhao (No stroke can win all strokes). haha...

There is no update on Hua Zhen after Guo Jing married with Huang Ron. In 神雕侠侣, when Guo Jing already openly fighting with the Mongolian, is Hua Zhen still alive? At least we know his An Da the 4th Prince already dead by then.

In his earlier novels, good guys learn strong skills & get the girls. Than follow by more girls to choose from but he still get the girl. ( with some exceptions ) . Also he make us believe that we can start small & become Big and get the Girls. Than in Lu DIng Ji, he shows us that it is not necessary to have strong skills to get the girls.

 

Maybe, I believe that some influence from the West may have influence his writings in his later part. ( Maybe James Bond, most luckest Spy who gets all the girls )

I read the updated version of heavenly sword and dragon saber few years ago. The most significant modification is Zhang Wu Ji willingly gave up the leader position to Zhu Yuan Zhang.

 

Previously, it was Zhang Wu Ji overheard Zhu Yuan Zhang conversation and disappointed so left the Ming Sect. Any bro can correct me if I am wrong.

 

But we all know the history that it was Zhu Yuang Zhang who overthrown the Mongolian.. In the story, Zhu Wu Ji is the leader in Ming Sec and after him got many other higher ranking ppl like the Yang Siao, Fan Yao, Fu Wang (Bat King ), 5 shan ren, 5 Xin flags..etc. Logically, no way that Zhu Yuan Zhang as a small leader in 5 Xin flags could take over the leader. Hence, the modified version is to settle let Zhang Wu Ji to hand over the leadership to Zhu Yuan Zhang.

 

I rem he didnt like zhu yuan zhang the first time he saw him already right?

Am a fan of his novel...read each of them many times again and again. Too bad there isn't more.

 

I think it the best results in getting more outta the novel is to watch the drama or movie too. It can somehow enhance the imagination when reading. Especially when it comes to fight scene.

For Lu Ding Ji, if Xiao Bao is a big hero of Han (like other main characters in the other novels) ....

 

Do you think he can be so friend with Kang Si emperor?

Do you think the smart Kang Si can share so many things with him?

How can he have so many identities? Eunuch, Green Wood Xiang Chu, Bai Long Shi Zhe, Cheng Jing nan disciple, Jiu Nan disciple, Shao Lin Monk,..etc.

 

If without the above mentioned, I think the story will not be interesting at all. And its in the Qing dynasty liao (nearer to our era) so maybe the Ku Fu will not be so fantastic like can fly or got special power.

 

I think we should look it in another view. Its fun to read and its different from previous Jing Yong characters.

The drama and movie is not close to his original novel. Esp the movie, how can they summarise so long story into 2 hours of movie?

Also in earlier post someone mention the Shaolin monk who subdued Jiao Feng, could he possibility be using Ju Yang Sheng Gong ? If so, than Zhang Wu Ji should be the strongest as he also has learn the Min Sect Qian Kun Da Lou Ei skill

 

Weaponary should be Lin HuChong from 笑傲江湖?. His Du Gu 9 Sword skill derived from past failures. No matter how much stronger in strength the enemy is, the Du Gu Skill can overcome.
