Grounding only provides an extra return path. Not really necessary all metal parts are already grounded to your chassis in one way or another.

For VS, I didn't notice any difference with and without one, although it claims your aircon is cooler and headlight shines brighter.

If you open up a VS, inside are all AC and DC capacitors.

DIY the VS yourself less than $30. Add on to the grounding another $20.

Your car already has grounding! And if you drive a Skoda, it has multi point grounding.

As a car gets older, the single grounding point gets corroded and so adding more points

helps. It also helps prevent your car from rusting by sending a negative charge thru

your car body.

As for VS, really dun need this at all!

Spend your money on DVD, speakers, amp etc, u get a benefit from these! :D

I don't believe in Vstab too...

but after installing one VS ( not the usual brand ), it improves my ride performance. Not one but all 3 cars in the family.

We confirm it when we remove it before scrapping one of our car. It makes a difference to me. I think it depends on the brand.

It's ok to think I am dumb to believe in caps and inductors... [rifle] but the benefit is all mine.. :P

save yr money for better things. No noticeable difference.

That will depend on the brand of the VS you are installing, if you are installing the Pivot then you can save your money as there is no difference. I did really throw away my Pivot after I install another brand of VS. [thumbsup]

My understanding is that for those drivers who pack alot of I.C.E into their cars, they need a voltage stabiliser + bigger battery to cope with the additional electric load and surges.

For normal drivers, its not neccessary.

I ever used the EZ-stab before. It was said to help me save fuel, but because I did not monitor, I dont know if its true. One thing I noticed is that acceleration got slower as throttle was less responsive at move-off.

I'm not electronic trained, so I'm very puzzled how does this grounding thing works?

I always thought grounding means you conduct electricity and literally let it go to the ground? And your car tyres are poor conductors of electricity? So ground it to the chassis also pointless right?

Please enlighten me.....

I guess its because the car chassis is quite big.

So any stray electricity from the battery negative terminal will be easily spread all over the chassis, and conducted into the air.

Above just my guess.

Experts, your say?

i installed ever since my second car till now my 5th car.

used to it, so just install..

can do without, don't really see great differences.

reason, you cannot expect $100+ stuff to work wonders...

Grounding back to the battery.

Anyway, no need for grounding or VS for newer car models. Save your money for better ICE.
