There's winter time, Unniversal traveller, colder wear. These outlet carry stuff that's more presentable. But if really on the cheap, you might want to try People's Park. There's these China goods shops that sell winter wear too (some are also not really cheap). There's also Winings which I found the stuff to be urgh but relatively cheaper. Best to watch out for the sales at Winter Time & Cold Wear. They occur weekly.... so watch out for it. It changes every week from what I noticed. One moment there's 20% discount, next there's none, then its 30%, and so forth. Don't rush... you still have plenty of time. I took like a month going round the various shops till I just finished my winter wear shopping last week. Oh BTW, Universal traveller stuff is still slightly cheaper locally than if you go to malaysia to buy. Just saw an outlet here at Jurong Point but I already bought from JB store. Most places will have sales for winter wear during that season. Last year in Japan, bought winter clothes for entire family only to find that all design sold here are so out-dated! What's available in Singapore Years ago, there was Winter Time and Coldwear (and Winning if you're interested enough). They provided basic wear at affordable prices. Not exactly trendy, but they got the job done. However, when you're skiing in bulky (and a little ugly) ski wear, you look like "someone from China", wearing something made in China. However, in 2010, I realised that WinterTime carries a range of "upmarket" and a little "designer" items. It's under the Hoperise branding (probably made in china), and we got ourselves a couple of ski jackets. They were slimmer than anything else we could find in Singapore, and looked appropriate even among the trendy local skiers (especially in Japan). Pricing is higher, but definitely cheaper than the designer pieces in Winter Countries! Get it There Then again, if you're looking for value-for-money, and you are able to locate the right stores quickly, buying in the Winter Country you're visiting is the best. We managed to find a whole range of ski/winter attire in almost every city we visited, across a large range of designs and prices. Shoes are also cheaper (and better) than anything we could find here. If you can't wait! But to ensure that you have a basic attire that suits the harsh winter weather best, I higly recommend getting a "heat-tech" or some of the new-fangled slim long-johns that Uniqlo carries. They are a good basic insulation when temps get below 0 degrees! Then layer a any t-shirt, sweater and windbreaker! This works up to -10 degrees. Anything colder and you need a thick Winter Jacket!
