Chucky2007 Turbocharged December 9, 2015 Share December 9, 2015 Almost everyone has something bad to say about his boss. I think employees need to analyze their bosses' behavior instead of superimposing what they perceive as a good boss behavior on their superiors. Each has his own agenda to achieve and while the agendas do not overlap for the most part it is always in the best interest for both parties to be aware of each others' needs. Simply said: don't be selfish and blame and bitch about your boss just because you did not get the promotion or raise you THINK you deserve. Now let me express what I've personally experienced and term as a bad boss behavior. My boss is almost always late for meetings he calls for. At times, he would totally skip the meeting he called for at the last minute. This displays a total disrespect for other people's times and that is what I term a bad boss behavior. agree with you. Hate this type of behavior.. Had one like this in previous company.. And it's proven this type of behavior is a glass ceiling for his own good and promotion.. He was never promoted to svp until now and last rank held for 5 years.. In current company, line manager and big boss totally respected others time and always attempt to show concern. much successful in terms of income and respect from industry folks, competitor or clients. ↡ Advertisement
Philipkee Twincharged December 10, 2015 Share December 10, 2015 My experience on the type of bosses. 1). Someone who always puts you down. You do your best and you actually deliver results but he always has something bad or sarcastic to say to you. I say this is a bad boss. 2). The encouraging but strict boss. Some bosses will actually encourage you and help you improve. I say this is a good boss but I will hate to be on the wrong side of the boss when I make a mistake cos the shelling can be ..... But if you did your work well, life is good. 3). The politically correct boss. This boss will always encourage you but he will not commit to a solution that might just affect his career. This boss is nice to talk to but cannot be depended on to protect you because he will always say the "correct" thing. Bad boss, good friend. 4). The bo chup boss. Too busy, no time for you. Do your own thing, he has no time to disturb you. I actually kinda like this kind of boss. But that's because the ppl I work with are relatively disciplined to do our work though. It gets tough when an audit comes and he realises no standard practice. Good boss for worker, no comments whether or not he is a good employee to HIS boss. Worked both in private and public sector. Some people here may know where I worked before so I will not comment on which boss to which sector.
Playtime Twincharged December 10, 2015 Share December 10, 2015 Bad boss. Verbally "suggest" you do something that is highly unethical bordering on criminal. Get angry when you refuse the order without his written confirmation.

I thought people only call for meetings so they don't have to do any real work. That's why I do it.

I will do my best to incorporate all 4 styles from above into my management style. Thanks for posting.

I would say that is just not ethical.
